Kelly, Krafth, and Murphy Start At Bournemouth

Here is the team Eddie Howe will field for today’s match at Bournemouth. It has two changes from the 1-0 victory over Southampton last weekend with Emil Krafth and Lloyd Kelly in for Fabian Schar and Lewis Hall.

It’s a full debut for Kelly which creates some intrigue about the backline. Will Krafth play at right-back and Tino Livramento on the left? Or is Kelly a straight swap for Hall?

The bench is a strong one with plenty of options for Howe. There is a bit of a surprise that John Ruddy gets the call ahead of Martin Dubravka and Odysseas Vlachodimos.

This is the eleven Andoni Iraola has named for the hosts.

A win and Newcastle will join a trio of clubs to start the campaign with all six points. That would provide some confidence ahead of a momentous week with the Carabao Cup match at Nottingham Forest and Spurs on the horizon.

it’s more likely that Tonali will take Bruno’s position which he is more suited to.

Jane, please stop giving women a bad press, just stick with the stats, stop trying to wind up the blog about players you hate,
Really, Longstaff nice lad but only a backup, I haven’t got a clue why you hate Joelinton and Bruno, but your comments on them are weird.

Pottsluck, well we won’t buy him he’ll be cup tied.
Eeh, honestly this club, we are so Newcastle, this has been the same thing for years and years, can’t catch a break.
Anyway we’ll go with what we’ve got, we’ll have more to spend in January.
I’ll still be a happy clapper.

I reckon Eddie may chuck Sandro straight in. Kid has No ceiling, could be best all round midfielder in league once he gets going.

On a different level to Sean. Him, Tripps and Gordon down right hand side hopefully with Barnes getting a start down the left.

Check, I’ve noticed how much she hates Bruno and Joelinton, for some reason.
I like Longstaff, but on the bench, if we have others available.
Anyway she does it to wind me up. šŸ˜€

All these pathetic negative comments on Social Media regarding Eales, Mitchell, and Howe are quite surprising and very much uncalled for imo. As far as I’m concerned Howe has exceeded all expectations by keeping NUFC up after certain relegation fears, qualifying us for the CL the very next season, and reaching a cup final. Despite all them injuries last season, we achieved a 7th place finish and reached the quarterfinals of 2 cups.

Paul Mitchell joined the club midtransfer window, after the PSR farce. NUFC have a decent budget, acquiring top class players without falling into another PSR debacle is challenging very challenging where many don’t see this issue. So, PM needs time to prove his worth and Iā€™m convinced we will doā€¦

We’ve recruited very top professional individuals right across the club, where they have establised an effective structure filled with dedicated, talented people. The rapid transformation is a testament to our progress and future trajectory, surely even the most negative of supporters can see this, surely?.

Finally, It is very imporatnt to ensure that patience is necessary, the PIF will maintain pressure on all club areas to perform, providing finances where possible. We should be fully aware by now that these individuals are not accustomed to 2nd place and will not accept achievable targets that are not met. Weā€™re operating professionally and are genuinely competitive and we’re in the safest of hands with Eddie Howe steering wor ship. Keep the faith.

Well Mitchell has been totally mugged on Guedi.
Negotiate for a month and offer the near asking price.
Then they play him in a cup game two days before the window closes.
If Mitchell does not walk away it will be worse than having his pants down.
He needs to think about the reputation of the club. I do not care about his reputation

Unsure why Barnes hasnt been tried down the right hand side (apart from upsetting Miggy and Murphy) as can cut in and use his left to belt one.

Eddie does seem a touch soft in upsetting individualā€™s and then possibly the group. Gotta get ruthless before he is out. If he has his reasons which there are many to get Barnes and Gordon on the pitch consistently he should just do it

I just thought it surprising that a new player with serious problems, Tonali, should cite Bruno and Joelinton specificially as being such a good support and help to him in difficult times. Especially when it’s an English club that has English captains who he did not mention.
He even says that Bruno would help him with translations.
Whatever they’re doing off the pitch, EH likes them because he made Bruno captain and gave Joe a big contract renewal.

Guehi is a signing for the long term not this season.

Would probably play second fiddle to Schar and Botman if both where at it. Its a risk free investment for next 7/8 year. Solid CB who can hold his own in the prem and possibly get a lot better. Plus heā€™s a super lad by all accounts.

Personally not rated him, but will concede that recruitment team have a bit more off than me. Unlikely but could be true.

So we now have a potential starting eleven of –
    Pope
    Tripps/Tino. Schar. Botman/Burn. Hall/Kelly
    Bruno/Miley
    Tonali. Big/Joe/Willock
    Gordon/Mig/Murph. Barnes/Sanusi
    Isak/Osulu/Wilson

With a mint coaching team and backup staff.

But we should be whinging and sayingā€¦

Its time to get behind the club and Eddie.

This mocking of our pursuit of Guehi when nobody knows whats going in is pretty pathetic.

We are in a great position for a solid season, continuing to build under corrupt sanctions. What are they supposed to do.

Speculate on expensive players. Dont think its our style. Botman is the only defender speculated on outside the league, reckon Eddie want English defenders who quickly know patterns and can communicate. Guehi makes sense. Just been tuff going..

Its the speculation on social media that causes the grief.

Just change a habit of a lifetime and support the club.

We have come a long way in a short space of time and its not easy getting top players in, on our salary structure.

You go on like you would do a better job.

Being a bit of a proper plum. Personally dont rate Guehi so could dodge a bullet anyways. Win win.

Been out all day so just seen Eddie`s press conference, what was all the fuss about!! For me it was just an normal presser, i thought Eddie looked quite positive happy and even jovial, the only bizarre and weird thing i heard was the silly and personal question about Sandro Tonali from Louise Taylor, which had a swift response from wor Eddie, when he said i am not going there.

I remember the Keegan season we started decent on 4 points and 3rd round of league cup. Then transfer window ashley fooked up and keegan resigns. Then we get relegated. There was huge optimism that season.

This has similar feeling. Howe wont feel fully backed. There will be doubts even in players minds. We have started well with 4 points but depending what happens tomorrow and deadline day it could go downhill fast
