Barnes, Kelly, And Longstaff Start Against Spurs At St. James’ Park

Newcastle are back at St. James’ Park today with a potentially revealing test against Tottenham. Eddie Howe has named the following eleven for the clash which has four changes from the midweek Carabao Cup win at Forest.

This is a strong team with Howe once again naming a front three of Alexander Isak, Harvey Barnes, and Anthony Gordon. Getting the trio clicking in front of net is vital after not strengthening the attack in the summer transfer window.

This is the team Ange Postecoglu has named. It’s a rare start for former Juventus and Genoa defender Radu Dragusin in the place of the injured Micky van de Ven.

A win and all could be well again on Tyneside. The Magpies are undefeated and three points takes them into the top five ahead of the first international break of this season.

Howay The Lads!

    I’m not slagging people off

    More like telling home truths

It doesn’t go down well in certain quarters though.

Chelsea were very fortuitous to come away with 3 points tonight mate, i thought Bournemouth were excellent, and play a beautiful brand of attacking football mate.

Great to hear you had an nice day with the family mate. What`s your verdict on tomorrows game mate? i would be in dream land if we were victorious, but i have a feeling it will end all square, my prediction 1-1 marra.

Magscar – I would relish Arsenal not winning and some incident in the game which would start Arteta on one of his touchline lunacy incidents that we have all seen before. Unfortunately once they get into their stride they’ll be very hard to beat.

Magic…Aye they’re a great team to watch and play some great stuff. Really unlucky, 19 shots, 7 on target and hit the woodwork twice. They were impressive tonight, really deserved something.

Bournemouth were definitely so unlucky tonight, i think they will possibly finish around mid table this year, and i fancy them to cause a few shocks against some of the big teams this year, and specially at their own ground mate.

Depends on how we turn up mate !

Play as we all know we can then I reckon 0-2 to us

Play as we have so far then yeah that historical scoreline between us 1-1 might be it

I’m really hopeful that we’ll get at them early and with their best players sold and their poor form we will score early and unsettle them and we get in our stride – then I woke up 🙂

I dislike Arsenal and Arteta ( media darling) even more for his histrionics

Then again I’m no Spurs fan but am ok with Ange

However looking at it dispassionately an Arsenal win would suit us better

Sort of result like Pottsclock was referencing earlier that you’re confused about

So, it’s my disrespect of Tuffers and none existing football knowledge that’s put into the top 10 of the tossa list? But howay, number 8?? I thought I’d be higher than that!

How’s about you ask your hero, Fenham, to tell his lacky Tuff to explain why he (Tuff) deserves respect.

And is there a Premier Tossas League for him and your boss Fenham and his other cronies?

Exacty I’m hoping Schar being back can help midfield not sit as deep as in last 3 and feel more confident pushing up with consequent higher line from front 3

Still not sure whether we will start with low block to hit on break or if Eddie feels we’re mow ready for a higher intensity game from off

Given our relative positions you’d expect us to have an easier afternoon but yesterday’s results (even Everton going 2 up) show it’s unwise to underestimate the opposition

The players should still have memories of points lost on the road last season at teams below us – hopefully Eddie has prepared them well

I’ve not analysed games as to which teams had more players away in last fortnight so don’t know if that impacted on surprise results for Leicester, Forest. Ipswich and Everton’s fast start at Villa?

It’s a winnable game but no foregone conclusion
