Hall, Murphy, And Schar Start At Wolves

Newcastle are back in action with a match at Wolves. As things have panned out this weekend, a win pushes the Magpies into at least the top three pending the Arsenal at Tottenham result.

This is the team that Eddie Howe will field at Molineux with three changes from the win over Spurs before the break. Fabian Schar comes straight back into the team after his suspension despite Emil Krafth’s impressive performances.

The other two changes are Jacob Murphy in for Harvey Barnes and Lewis Hall at left-back for Lloyd Kelly. The three who miss out are on the bench and likely in contention for starts at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Gary O’Neill has chosen the following eleven for the struggling hosts.

Newcastle look to keep their unbeaten run alive in what has been a promising start to the campaign results-wise. The Mags haven’t quite found consistent form but have ground out results.

Hope abounds that the run continues with all three points pushing Newcastle near the top of the table.

Howay The Lads!

    Madueke got a hat-trick down Ait-Nouri’s side.

If Wolves have not patched things up — it should be a golden opportunity for Murphy and Gordon to hit them on the back posts.

Not to mention there’s a high chance Bunce is advising it too and may not even be 100% Eddie’s decision to not start him.

Smart nitvstarting Tonali just to satisfy a few of the bedwetters in our fanbase .
The lad has just played 2 big international games after being out for a year, giving him 30 mins today .
Imagine the bawling if he started and got injured, we wouldn’t hear the end of it.

Well not a goal fest at Spurs and Arsenal not as dangerous on break as i ad expected but they find the way to win

Their recruitment has been different to ours and ignoring Rice they have made some curious buys like Havertz and Jorghinho (to my mind) but they have worked

Maybe Arteta will get something extra out of Sterling another playe from Chelsea

Murphy starting is an odd one alright, the only thing you can think of is that he is defensively better than both Gordon and Barnes up against Ait-Nouri we will definitely need that .
    Arguably Wolves best player

Well if he’s not match fit whats he doing playing 2 full 90mins in the past week r so. Italy seem to think he’s match fit. The lads 100% match fit let me tell you he’s had 5days recovery.there’s no reason y he shouldn’t b starting. You don’t have to play him for another full 90. He can b replaced after 65mins. Stop wrapping the boy in cotton wool he wasn’t injured.

There you go, i knew it, Sky are so fkin biased. They will go to Molineux a few minutes before ko and instead waffle on about the big London derby and spout shite.
If our game had of been on first they would of switched to the Spuds game immediately after the final whistle.
Thus is the kind of big 6 favouritism that makes my blood boil, how about putting the next PL game on, is it not worthy of a little build up coverage, arseholes.

Here’s hoping we click today with our passing and pressing. That said a scruffy var assisted 1 nowt win would do but really hoping we play like we can. Would have loved to see Tonali start and was really hoping he would but as RH says 3 starts in a week is a big ask at that level where a 1% dip in performance can be the difference between a great game and a sh!t game. As Adam says too, Bunce may have had a say, not as in trying to pick the team but as in “Aye Eddie he’s capable to play but it may be a risk considering…”

Although they’ve done some player recruitment, Spurs look just the same as they did last season.
Bags of effort, aggression and attacking intent. But they struggle against teams who can defend against that and who are a threat on the counter attack, as we were. They do well against teams who go 1-0 down to them and have to push on to equalise, but when they don’t take the lead they have no plan B.
Unlike us, they actually spent their ÂŁ65m on a player who I don’t think is worth the money and I think they’re far less balanced in terms of style and options. Even their subs are exactly the same type of players as the ones on the pitch, just fresher legs.
Remember when Maddison would have taken us to another level? Well, he’s not doing so in that Spurs team, which is a surprise.
So, I’m pretty hopefully that Spurs will drop plenty points this season.

I thought Kelly would start but said this moning that i had a sneaky feeling Eddie might change front 3

It seems he has gone for balance and to get best out of Gordon

Tonali and Barnes will figure – it’s been a long time since the game was about only 11 players

Because he hadn’t played 2 midweek 90 minutes games before those Italy matches? Like, what???

He’ll start soon enough. No point taking any risks and asking someone who’s not played competitive football in nearly a year, to play two 90 minutes matches midweek and then start at the weekend, is a risk. Pointless.

Tbf if you’re PIF and you’re paying big bucks for someone like Bunce to come in to help with injury prevention his advice has got to be heeded, The guy is reputedly top in his field.

It’s a bit like Mitchell and PSR. Signings have been great but outgoings virtually non existent, hence we have 4/5 keepers in the 25 man squad.

Hopefully we’ll get to Molineux in time for KO 🙂

Anyway, it’s smart player management and likely a decision based on training numbers, Bunces evaluation and just smart player management of someone who’s been out so long.

Last I’ll say on it as he’ll no doubt get a run out off the bench and start games soon.

    2-0 win I’m going for.

Defence has looked great this season so far and fancy Gordon to have his best game yet, after impressing for England and getting that confidence back.

Isak has been on fire for Sweden too.

    2-0, Isak and Longstaff.

I’d dearly live it if we won like 0-4 just so we coukd stick it to Sky and they dobt get to waffle on about 1st vs 2nd next week in the city vs Arsenal game. They’re at it already today.

The reality is we will probably be very lucky to even win but christ I’d love it.
