Newcastle are in the top four as they head south to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage today. The Magpies have grafted for their impressive points haul but yet to put in an overly convincing display.
Hopefully, that changes with this side Eddie Howe has named. It features four changes from the 2-1 win against Wolves last weekend with Kieran Trippier, Lloyd Kelly, Joe Willock, and Harvey Barnes getting the nods.

Newcastle have another golden opportunity to pick up points away. Their luck could run out if the levels don’t rise against The Cottagers. The hope is these changes from Howe spark a convincing victory at Craven Cottage.

Comment #83Is this a reflection of Eddie pandering to players rather than bring the hard faced boss that’s needed to get results.

Comment #84Gordon looks a yard off pace this season he just doesn’t seem to be running past players 1v1 to the same extent he was last season.

Comment #86Fulham have already committed 8 fouls at home to our 2.
Seems to be that if you disrupt NUFC they loose their momentum and rhythm.
Scousers 2 goals in 2 mins.
Spurs 2 up after being one down.
We’re not at the races.

Comment #88And even the players he has bet 1v1 they aren’t exactly speedsters and he’s only barely got by them. What’s happened his speed is he just not trying like?

Comment #97Isak and Gordon havent been at the races all season.
As much as he could nick a goal I’d bring miggy on for Gordon play Barnes left and Tonali for Joelinton, and give Osula a go for Isak we have nothing to lose.
Not another deJong

Comment #98Probably predict Isak coming off as he is hardly showing, perhaps Gordon too.
Tonali to come on and, personally I would suggest Almiron as well.
There is a lack of sharpness in the final third, not finding the spaces that are there and not passing quickly enough. Plus the midfield looks a bit loose.

Comment #100I never realized Fulham were that good.
It’s a reality check. That’s all.
It might be just me but the performances do not reflect the points.
But I’ll settle for poor displays and points

Comment #102Just get Mourinho in Summer. He knows how to get results and win cups. Forget this Howe malarkey he has been here 3 years and we still cant pass and move consistently from back to front. We pass back a lot. Need a formation change

Comment #110You drop Longstaff at your own peril.
I get the sense Howe is just as confused as everyone else as to why we play better with Longstaff at RM
it comes down to pressing…you cant half ass pressing…that half was all half assed
didnt help Gordon looks like a lost child wandered onto the football pitch. i counted 4 consecutive misplaced passes from him

Comment #111The midfield just is not right. I don’t know if Willock and Joelinton are pushing up too quickly, but obviously Fulham are snapping at the heals and we’re unable to control midfield.
Tonali or Longstaff for Joelinton please.
Very concerned about Gordon.

Comment #113I’m starting to see a scenario where Eddie could be gone by Christmas. This team hasn’t been playing well since last December, we don’t look right and we’re far far better than this. If we lose today I’ve a feeling it’s going to go downhill fast.
Just a feeling nothing more.

Comment #118There will always be pressure on Eddie now with uncertainties and backroom clashes being in spotlight. Think we need a reset in Summer. A trophy winning manager to build his team and see what he can do. Mourinho would be my choice for his know how in winning cups.
This current pressure and expectation on Eddie is just getting too much for him

Comment #119This match isn’t over simply because Fulham have 4 players on yellow cards. Not the first time this season that teams have been overly physical with us – seems like it’s a strategy.

Comment #120Cannot get my head around why Howe always plays with Three in midfield
Been getting over ran in mid every game this season
Could of brought Tonali in instead of one of the forwards and gone 4-4-2 or even drop defender and go 3-4-4
Hope – think he is very poor on his left side
Howe- I’ll be brutally honest not sure if he is a good manager – average manager or lucky manager. Saying that still would stick with him – better than we have had in a long time
