Newcastle are in the top four as they head south to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage today. The Magpies have grafted for their impressive points haul but yet to put in an overly convincing display.
Hopefully, that changes with this side Eddie Howe has named. It features four changes from the 2-1 win against Wolves last weekend with Kieran Trippier, Lloyd Kelly, Joe Willock, and Harvey Barnes getting the nods.

Newcastle have another golden opportunity to pick up points away. Their luck could run out if the levels don’t rise against The Cottagers. The hope is these changes from Howe spark a convincing victory at Craven Cottage.

Comment #121Well isn’t that the most Newcastle thing ever. Chance to go top and we play the most dog s–t football of the season. I guess we couldn’t keep getting away with, although all these people saying we were going to do them 3 or 4 look a bit foolish!!!!
Just have to accept it’s HB or AG left as even Murphy and Miggy do more tracking back and creating on the right.
No number 6 just leaves us cut open every time. At least get Tonali on and get some numbers in the middle even if it means talking a winger off.
What has happened to Isak, Bruno and big Joe ????

Comment #125We bought nobody in the summer so Eddie has a ready made excuse come the summer.
Eddies problem is that nobody upstairs will listen.
After 3 years of Eddie tutelage , we cannot retain possession but rely on quality moments.
It comes home to roost eventually

Comment #127A big negative to Howe is he really thinks players he’s managed or liked are far better than they actually are and are. That’s how we ended up with, Wood, Burn, Kelly, Osula, Targett etc.
I’m starting to think the reason we didn’t spend in the summer was because howe isn’t going to be here long and they want to ensure there is plenty of money in the kitty for the next manager in.
I honestly think he’s not going to be here after Christmas.

Comment #129I’d take Gordon off for tonali. He’s been shocking. Then put either one of the Joe’s out left.

Comment #130That DM I said we needed and that target man CF I said that would have been useful. Why was Osula signed exactly?

Comment #131Flappers Championship (Fulham Round) – 1st Half Scores
Poet – unreal performance so far topped off by sublime Mourinho manager suggestion, will be hard to beat – 9/10
IrishRob – not on form today, usual Longstaff negativity even when he’s not playing but lacked originality elsehwere – 5/10
Arthur – Short & sweet as per usual, turns out he’s been able to mindread Gordon which is amazing, but could do more – 7/10
Munster – Not at the races so far, expect some OTT panicking next half when they realise how far behind they are – 4/10
Lochiver – This half’s suprise package, top flapping with the big boys – 7.7/10
Tune in for the next round

Comment #135Howe admitted last week he hasn’t spoken to Mitchell all week and wouldn’t answer the question this week when asked(I think we all know why)
Not speaking in 2 weeks despite last season Howe stated he is in constant contact with Ashworth every day and that he attends training every day.
You’d have to be braindead to still think that there isn’t an issue between them.

Incredible!
Seconds into the second half and Harvey Barnes rolls it past Bernd Leno after a great pass by substitute Jacob Murphy.”
