Gordon, Hall, and Isak Start Against Brighton

Newcastle are back in action after the October international break. The competition is stiff as Newcastle enter what could be a revealing stretch of matches. Today Brighton come to St. James Park in a battle between the sixth and seventh placed clubs.

This is who Eddie Howe has named for today’s match. It has two changes from the draw at Everton with Alexander Isak back leading the line.

Here is the side Fabian Hurzeler has selected for the Seagulls with Yankuba Minteh not in the squad.

This is a massive fixture despite it still being early. Newcastle have played better of late but to Howe’s admission, have not yet reached top gear. That may need to happen today to get all three points against a very talented Brighton side.

Howay The Lads!

Brighton have plenty firepower in that starting 11 but hopefully we’ll press them really well

Very surprised Ivan Ferguson is staring for Brighton today as he has been absolutely abysmal for Ireland recently, i just pray his recent recent form continues for one more game 😀 😀

It’s Ferguson’s 20th birthday today. I just saw that when I looked him up on Wiki.

So maybe the Brighton manager is playing him for that birthday boost but it unusual for Ferguson and Wellbeck to start together. There’s going to be goals !!!

Is it possible we added a clause about our next match in Minteh’s contract? Brighton fans were expecting him to play

Lots of attacking power for Brighton, but their midfield looks weak.

Hoping our 3 in the middle can dictate tempo, look after it well and dominate. Allow us to push them back, pin them in and press when we lose possession.

Very attacking Brighton team at our place should allow us to cause their defence issues. Just need to be brave.

Afternoon John, and that very thought had entered my head in reference to young Ferguson, but he really has been abysmal for Ireland recently, so i hope he doesn`t have a good birthday for 90 minutes today mate 😀 😀

Ive just seen the teams and our midfield should totally boss theirs, there is no excuse today imo, if you dictate midfield you usually win the game..
Two attacking teams but barring Botman we are basically full strength..
At the very least a draw and a good display is what i expect.

    Munster,

Brighton are a good team, don`t get me wrong, but we are supposed to have at least 2 world class centre mids n our team, plus big Joe , basically our strongest midfield, i would worry if we can`t dominate this game considering Brighton`s midfield.
I think most fans are expecting at least a good show today.
