Almiron, Barnes, and Livramento Start At Chelsea

Newcastle continue a very difficult stretch with a clash at Stamford Bridge. The Magpies are coming off a very disappointing 1-0 defeat against Brighton at St. James’ Park. Now the terrain gets much more difficult.

It’s back to back matches against the Blues, who come to Newcastle for the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Then it’s Arsenal at home to finish off a potentially revealing week.

Eddie Howe has been forced into changes for today’s critical fixture with Anthony Gordon out injured. Here is today’s team which has two changes from last Saturday’s defeat.

This is who Blues boss Enzo Maresca has named for the hosts.

Newcastle are in the bottom half of the table and in desperate need of a result. The Magpies just haven’t gotten fully going this term and a poor summer window may be a partial culprit.

Change can be swift in the Premier League and today holds a possibility for redemption against a Jekyll and Hyde Chelsea side. Hopefully, its Newcastle’s day with three points and a corner turned.

Howay The Lads!

Too much pace for our midfield. Swamping it. But the lads are battling hard

We need fresh ideas on the training pitch (new management new coaching). We don’t even look like a mid table team this season. We need a change. But Who?

They’re taking us apart. Honestly this is EXACTLY like a bruce performance. Christ where has this team gone. We’re so so much better than this.

It’s time for a new manager, a year of this has been too much, anyone who says otherwise is just being stupidly sentimental.

Thanks Eddie but it hasn’t worked

I think Naglesman could be convinced to leave Germany he’s gave it a go and they havent done much in the time he’s been there. He would attract some quality German players too.

Sorry lads something has happened in the dressing room and the powers to be our club is going backwards now, I can see players wanting out soon as the project is falling part just a mater of time before howie and his side kick are showing the door.watched them last week from the side line honest they looked lost at what to do.

It’s nothing like a Bruce performance.

The team is playing with intensity and creating chances.

A Bruce performance would be 5 at the back and getting maybe 1 player into the Chelsea with a ball from Shelvey, or Maxi trying to beat 4 defenders.

You want a side that tries to win games? Well, that is going leave openings at times.

Joelinton has been brilliant. 1-1 I’ll take it but it’s not fixing this problem even if we won. This team isn’t the same anymore

Well, look at that. About 5 players in the box for that goal.

    Yep, very “Bruce like performance”.
