Livramento, Longstaff, And Willock Start Against Arsenal

After an impressive win knocking Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup, Newcastle have another difficult test at St. James’ Park with Arsenal on the docket.

Eddie Howe makes just three changes to the midweek team for today’s clash. Here is the team that can move to just three points behind their opponents with a victory.

The Gunners will be without Martin Odegaard today as Mikel Arteta has named the following team.

Another win would be fantastic after booking a trip to a cup quarterfinal. The lads will have to be at their best to defeat a strong Arsenal side.

Howay The Lads!

It’s twice in 2 and a half days which is different to twice in a week for a player that hasn’t played much this season and has had injury problems in the past. As I said maybe it’s just a bit early for him to do it. Not saying he won’t be able to in the future. Obviously, I could be totally wrong though 🙂

Out of interest, got a theoretical question for you, if you we’re the Newcastle coach, do you think you could do a better job than Bruce?

Personally can’t understand the clamour for Tonali to start, he’s been decent but nothing out of the ordinary.
For Howe this is quite a big change putting the Willock Joelinton combination in.

So then why do you think you could do a better job than Howe?

Because you’re saying that his team selection is wrong based on your knowledge

Newcastle finished 13th and 12th in Steve Bruce’s 2 full seasons in charge when Mike Ashley was the owner which was similar to Rafa to Benitez.

Are you saying you cannot express an opinion about team selection or just shut up and watch

Im not saying you can’t express an opinion about a team, but im saying it makes you look stupid if you suggest that your opinion is better than the professional with a very good record who deals with the players day in day out and has a wealth of coaches, analysts and data to help them

You can support a club without suggesting you know more than the professionals

Hopefully the two full backs pocket their two wingers. Worry about the space between them and our old age pensioner centre backs.

Dan burn and longstaff start. Only one outcome this is going to be. We’ve already lost the midfield battle before a ball has been kicked. And watch Dan burn get his ass ripped opened time and time again today. Shocking loyalty from Eddie.

Fray Bentos – its an opinion. Eddie Howe may think playing Burn at centre back, Arteta might have Burn nowhere near the starting 11 if he was our manager.

If we did get a new manager you think Tonali would be sat on bench.

Conte would have him as first name on teamsheet. Managing his workload is a load of shite an all. Its Willock who will get injured.

Hopefully Isak can hold the ball up today. Stop fannying about with it.

Newcastle haven’t won this seaon when Longstaff hasn’t started
Newcastle haven’t lost this season when Longstaff has started

Come on man, don’t be silly, questioning a lineup and stating someone else should have started, is suggesting you know more than them

Myself, if somebody is starting over somebody I like, I assume that manger had made the decision with a more expert mind and more informed information than me, therefore I never question lineups or tactics

Shout out to the Bugel guy. Best live version I’ve ever heard. Everyone always plays dud notes and fks it up.

Last week in the Liverpool match it was poor, last year at Newcastle it was shocking, but that was very good

Howe did say he was going to tailor his team to the opposition in this game.

Arsenal went to Liverpool and had Liverpool pushed deep from the get-go. They will do the same today. Bruno fits the mould for the side sitting deeper. Aside from Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool, if it was any other side, Tonali may have got the nod.

In a strange way Tonali should be flattered. He may be on the bench, but it looks like he is now in contention to replace Bruno. Howe isn’t going to do that after 1 game however, especially to his captain.

I imagine it’s so hard because you have to modulate the notes with your tongue mouth and how hard you blow, unlike most other instruments where you press a key or cover a predefined hole like on a flute etc.
