Livramento, Longstaff, And Willock Start Against Arsenal

After an impressive win knocking Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup, Newcastle have another difficult test at St. James’ Park with Arsenal on the docket.

Eddie Howe makes just three changes to the midweek team for today’s clash. Here is the team that can move to just three points behind their opponents with a victory.

The Gunners will be without Martin Odegaard today as Mikel Arteta has named the following team.

Another win would be fantastic after booking a trip to a cup quarterfinal. The lads will have to be at their best to defeat a strong Arsenal side.

Howay The Lads!

The guy would cause trouble in an empty room mate, i don`t want him anywhere near the club.
So what if he has a link to SBR, those days are long gone, football is not one big fairytale mate.

I was so disappointed when Dalglish took over and blamed him for players going and signing old friends, never thought about being forced and little money

As for guilt I was warned by Gavin how bad would be how awful he was as Chelsea manager and why he left there to go back to qpr

If this has been shared already, apologies. But it is certainly well worth the watch to understand where we’ve come from under Eddie.

Magic…I follow it and watch some games but not rugby daft or owt like that. Played inter squadron in the army.
Son in law is rugby mad and was on Scotland’s coaching team but quit that so now they’re back living in Newcastle which is easier for me visiting when I’m over as the other grandkids are in Stockton.

The fact you played Rugby in the army i would assume you have a fairly good knowledge of the game mate.

Great to hear your family are back living in the Toon, which as you say is much easier for you when your over visiting marra.

On the game tonight New Zealand brought Irelands 19 game home unbeaten run in Dublin to an abrupt end on a score line of 23-13
It was far from a classic, but the New Zealand lads were full value for the win, and fully deserved to win the match mate.

For one I’d certainly be very disappointed if Newcastle United employed Jose Mourinho. He’s well past his sell by date!

Anyway we have a top class manager in Eddie Howe!

Eddie is uncontroversial (albeit unsuccessful) which is what the Saudis wanted after the controversy of the takeover. They presumably thought their money would buy success whoever the manager was but the EPL quashed that.

Ian Rush, John Barnes not the very best of signings old school old thinking old players

Jose mourinho not on your nelly,

Eddie got that ship sailing straight to where we need to be, one of our best managers in my life time( apart from Sir Bobby and KK ), Jose brilliant on his day, not what we need and would like to see Eddie lift a trophy for us before him and anyone really. So much hard work done by him.
He’s not finished yet and neither are the players fighting for him despite the mega bucks unspent.
It will come keep the faith.

Isn’t it good to watch a guy talk about stuff that you are exactly thinking about, regarding NUFC?

If you disagree with some things he says, then even better. If he challenges Eddie, directly, on some of his choices, even better!

He mentions the right wing controversy (no, not Trump FFS), Wood Anderson sales and predicts a 2-1 win.

Me, I’m thinking about it. If someone told me would you take a point away from the team sitting in third, I’d probably say “of course!”.

But then if that same someone (or another) told me, it’s Forest, I’d say I expect we win.

    So, contemplating.

Last, but not least. How many minutes would Anderson have gotten playing this season for NUFC?

    Think about it.

Our most expensive player, ever, is now sat on the bench, fighting valiantly to get into the starting 11. Longstaff is giving his all and Willock is finding form.

    He’d be behind that lot.

Hope you enjoyed the game of not the result.

Tomorrow is a huge game for Eddie and co, i know we beat the Gunners at home last weekend but tbh, they re not playing well right now, their fans are getting restless because of their poor form, and we have a good home record, the cathedral has become a bit of a fortress.
I think Forest away will be a bigger test of our character because of their brilliant form and our away record is basically poor.
Would a point be considered a good return ?
I would take it i guess, but we seem to be gelling as a team now so three points would be handy or,maybe i am getting greedy.
Howe gets plenty of credit for what he has done at our club but what about the Forest coach right now,, their fans must think the sun shines out of his aris.
It`s gonna be a hard hard game tomorrow, if we win there i think we are back to almost our best.

And while we’re at it, from which crevice have you pulled the Saudis wanted someone ‘uncontroversial’ to manage us after the takeover? Do you think that’s the way the ruling class in f*cking Saudi Arabia make decisions?

As for Mourinho winning trophies, yep he has, as have many coaches, doesn`t mean he would fit in at the Toon.
Me personally, i think the tremendous team spirit we have now would be shot to pieces after a few poor results if Jose was coach, blaming everyone and his dog but himself, and watching boring , turgid football is surely a thing of the past.
    No thanks.

    3 years, 19 signings

My ranking, I have kept the numbers from the list published on Geordie Boot Boys which I didn’t agree with.

    3 – Bruno Guimaraes
    5 – Nick Pope
    6 – Kieran Trippier
    10 – Sven Botman
    2 – Alexander Isak
    4 – Dan Burn
    1 – Anthony Gordon
    9 – Tino Livramento
    7 – Lewis Hall
    12 – Chris Wood
    14 – Matt Targett
    11 – Sandro Tonali
    8 – Harvey Barnes
    15 – Lloyd Kelly
    16 – William Osula
    19 – Loris Karius
    17 – Odysseas Vlachodimos
    18 – John Ruddy
    13 – Yankuba Minteh

Whilst I loved the PSG games, which were a pinnacle, ultimately we were robbed of success. So personnally I favour the players that actually came in and saved us from relegation, kept an equal highest number of clean sheets, got us to a cup final and qualifying for the CL.Plus Karius has to be above the other goalies purely for the one game and Minteh never played for us (unjustly)
