Newcastle are back in action after an extended break with today’s clash against West Ham at St. James’ Park. The Magpies will hope the fortnight plus between matches will not hamper the momentum of four straight wins.
After the weekend’s action, Newcastle can climb into sixth place with a win. The Hammers have struggled this season so anything less than all the spoils would be a disappointment.
This is the side Eddie Howe has selected. It has just one change from the 3-1 win at Nottingham Forest with Lloyd Kelly in for the suspended Dan Burn. Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier are also back and available from the bench.

Comment #10Good team West Ham have on paper. It’s bound to click for them sooner rather than later.
Still… Howe’s home record makes it a mammoth task for them.
Even if West Ham score first, you would expect the side will barely flinch, carry on & get the business done.

At least we have plenty of quality options to bring off the bench tonight mate, and some of them might just make the difference tonight.

Comment #13Great looking side and bench, but no specialist cover at cb interestingly.
I suppose you might play Hall in there, if needed.
Still, that’s a very strong starting 11, with great firepower off the bench.
You’d expect we’ll have too much for West Ham, who have good players themselves, without really clicking.
Still very much a threat though, in what promises to be a good open entertaining game, unless West Ham sit back, which I don’t think they are inclined to do.
West Ham 2 – Newcastle………22.
Hahaha. That’d be fun. 🙂

Comment #14Sabbatical even. We have s superb core of young players.
Had £30 on us winning league yesterday at 120/1. We are the new Leicester. Believe, it starts tonight the push for the title.

Comment #19Magic… Would be nice to be comfortable with 20 to go so osula can get some decent minutes. You can never bet against Barnes coming off the bench and scoring too.

Comment #21I think Bunce must be playing a bit of a blinder and rapidly becoming our secret weapon behind the scenes. Not tempting fate but injuries seem way down, players are not being rushed back to early and even Wilson has turned up tonight, with Botman also set to return quite imminently too.
Shame no space for Miley on the bench.

Comment #22RH…Ssssh!!!! Don’t mention the “I” word. Get Botman, Miley and Lascelles back without getting any other major injuries and we’re cooking on gas.

i take my 3rd lesson in the morning, really enjoying it mate, and the pro is a really friendly bloke who explains things in a simple fashion, which means you don`t get overwhelmed with an overload of information mate.

Comment #24I really hate this ”we’re going to do them 4 or 5”. I always get nervous when we are the favourites and as WL toon says, we often fail to turn up on these occasions. Hopefully not the case tonight but a lot of people getting scarily over confident. WHU still have some very decent players.
