Newcastle are coming off a poor defeat at home to West Ham as they travel to South London to face Crystal Palace. The Eagles are mired in the drop zone having tasted victory just once this campaign.
The Magpies can hopefully recapture their form from before the international break when they won four on the trot including a 3-1 win away at Nottingham Forest. A result is sorely needed after Monday’s disappointment.
This is the team Eddie Howe has named for this crucial contest. It has two changes from West Ham with Dan Burn back and Sandro Tonali in for Sean Longstaff.

Let’s hope the return of Burn gets Newcastle back on track. This is an important fixture with three points desperately needed.

Comment #7Hope that this formation gels
Forest side with Tonali instead of Longstaff but he will also be directly swapping position?
Or might Bruno swap position for Longstaff and Tonali take Bruno’s spot?
Assume Wlilock on left midfield and Joelinton on RW (nominally but will drift)?
There are options for us – let’s make this work

Comment #9I hope Willock plays RMC as when he is on the left with Gordon they compete for the same space. Gordon would benefit more from the sharp forward passing of Tonali. Just hope we can get balls through to Isak that is not having to make look like a decent chance and can slot home with ease instead.

Strongest attacking bench we’ve had in awhile
So with starters Eddie has choices for formation and could vary it as game progresses
See how they line up ?

Comment #16Hadn’t realised that Van nistelroy has the best record as manager in Manchester United’s history!*
* Three wins out of four!
On him, I thought he’d be on the Leicester bench hence my draw bet against the best ‘home’ team in the league, Brentford.
