Newcastle Face League Leaders Liverpool At St. James’ Park

Newcastle face league leaders Liverpool this evening. The Reds are flying high with a nine point lead over Arsenal and Chelsea. It’s up to Eddie Howe and the lads to put a damper on their campaign.

The Magpies are coming off a couple of disappointing results. After losing at home to West Ham, a late goal at Selhurst Park cost Newcastle all the spoils over the weekend. However, under Howe Newcastle often meet the challenge against favored opposition.

A top performance will be needed to get anything against Liverpool, who have handled Newcastle capably since the takeover. Hopefully, the lads can find some form and pick up a needed result.

In other news, Newcastle have drawn Bromley at home in the third round of the FA Cup. This is a very good draw which will hopefully see the Magpies advance in the storied competition.

Unfortunately, I’ll not be able to watch today’s match due to work obligations. This article can stand in as a thread for the match.

Howay The Lads!

If another middle eastern WC means another mid winter break, that is a legitimate reason to withhold support.

I suppose depends on how Kelly fits in by Summer if we did get Guehi ( or similar) then he or Burn could be sold

I also wonder about Barnes although we would have to get much more than we paid (?) to make enough profit of his sale so soon after buying

As you say a lot will depend on where we finish and maybe if Miley establishes himself as a first team choice

Maybe this Summer will become the transformative one 😉

What a game. What a performance by #NUFC.

Structurally brilliant, and although we didn’t cover ourselves in glory with some of the finer details defensively, we still found the mettle to fight back for a point.

A very important point, and an encouraging performance.

Lose at home to struggling West Ham, muster 1 shot away at struggling Crystal Palace, and then go toe-to-toe in a 3-3 draw against Premier League and Champions League-leading Liverpool.

A normal 10 days in the life of a Newcastle United supporter.

This team just feeds off energy, and SJP creates a unique energy.

We need to re-learn how to play our game when that energy isn’t there – because structurally and tactically, we’re still good. And when our forwards are firing, we’re even better.

    It’s Howe’s challenge.

All in all though, a good evening. A Premier League classic, as that fixture regularly delivers.

#NUFC pressed well, were decisive in the final third, but were undone by lapses in defensive concentration, and sheer quality from Liverpool.

A good point, and a positive step.

I hope Newcastle can continue their good record at Brentford today! Another win would be great and needed as well.

Onmeed I’m in an Audi A6 Sportline and I won’t be going electric any time soon. I was in a Honda dealer recently looking at car for wife and even the saleswoman there was saying how fast and well built they were!

Stick with your diesel mate, it will probably last you 20 years and clock up 500k miles without issue.
The journeys that you make wouldn`t be possible in an EV, unless you stayed overnight somewhere to charge up, which isn`t ideal when you are pushed for time.
Ive driven an EV and it wasn`t the same as sitting behind a beefy V6, had to sell the vehicle last year after my heart attack, i couldn`t be having that much excitement now could i. haha
Ive got a mark II Honda CR-V with the K20 engine, one of the most reliable on the planet.
One thing is for sure, i won`t be forking out anywhere near the amount of money to keep my Honda on the road as i would for an EV vehicle in the long term.

Each to their own , EV`s can be a good alternative for drivers who just need a runabout to do short journeys, and IF you have your own charging point, which you probably do.
There are millions of drivers who won`t have the luxury of having their own charging points because of the type of housing they live in if they were to own an EV.
Im not saying don`t buy one, i am highlighting just how little thought the powers that be have given to what potentially could be a huge cock up.
Enjoy your EV mate, they are not my bag though.

Just a quick note to mention., a pal of mine bought an EV thinking he would save a lot of money in the long run, however , in the space of two weeks of getting his own charge point installed his energy provider doubled his charging rate. You just can`t win, another nice little money making racket for the greedy footers at the top.

So, Brentford Newcastle, two seemingly same strength teams if the table doesn’t lie. 11th and 12th, same points.

But, Brentford has the best home form in the entire league!

So who have the bookies made favourites?

    You guessed wrong! It’s Newcastle…

You should know by now that you’re wasting your time trying to engage in sensible conversation with Tuff. He’s clearly an admirer of Trump who’s as thick as pig chit, and that speaks volumes!

Anyway, enough of EV`s, it`s match day, i had to reply to previous posts to me though.

Which Toon team will turn up today is the big Q.
Is the game still going ahead by the way.
Once again i am predicting a draw IF we turn up, Brentford are good at home, we have mainly been poor away apart from a couple of games.
The table is wide open, it only takes a couple of wins and you are up there in the euro places so, depending on the result, we could be anywhere from 13th to 7th after today.
Would love a win but im going 2-2.

Which Toon team will turn up????
    But I fancy is today.
Brentford have a great home record and will attack. That suits us. No deep blocks from them I hope.
    2 1.
If the Palace Toon turns up it could be 3 or 4

There’s no reason for us not to turn up after that performance on Wednesday.only change from that team would wilcock or Barnes for Murphy, hopping for 3 pts today to get us back in the mix, iam3..0 3…1 ton.
Nufc need to perform for them supports that have made the long journey in these weather conditions.
