Barnes, Murphy, And Longstaff Start At Brentford

Newcastle travel to Brentford today after tallying a well-deserved point against league leaders Liverpool on Wednesday. While it’s been a rollercoaster start to the campaign, Newcastle can do themselves a lot of good with a victory over the Bees; a club they’ve had a lot of away success against recently.

This is the team Eddie Howe has selected for today’s clash. It has two changes from the midweek draw with Harvey Barnes and Sean Longstaff in for Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.

Here is the side Bees boss Thomas Frank has named.

A win should see Newcastle comfortably placed in the top ten with a platform to build upon. However, the Brentford will be eager to carve the same path for themselves. A top performance is needed to get Newcastle on track for a push for Europe.

Howay The Lads!

Lads were actually a great team though. Howe just isn’t anle to get performances out of us anymore week in week out and when we’re poor his tactics are usually awful.

Palace winning against city.. We’ll drop fast if we don’t win this one and can’t see us scoring two without conceding again. How many times have we been the better side and still lose?! Brighton, West Ham, Liverpool, Brentford,… We should be taking our chances if we want to finish higher up the table

Cursed I think it’s a huge problem in our defence. Hall, tripps, schar, Burn Botman are all as slow as a wet week.

2 wins in 11 games says it all really.

I don’t know how anyone defends this shit.

I guess 14 years of mike Ashley has lowered some of the fan bases expectations Of Newcastle United.

I love eddie but i think were approaching the end of the road.

he just cannot get this team to persistently perform to the levels they are capable of.

That draw against Liverpool showed us all what this team is capable of, we look a bang average mid table team TODAY. eddies got to go I’m afraid. we need a new manager with fresh ideas.

I’m Gunna hate to say goodbye to the man because he has been fantastic for this club but its time to go now.

I’m pretty much Howe out at this stage and I’m tired of pretending otherwise.

We need a proper rebuild in the summer and a new manager with new ideas – no need for acrimony – a handshake and a thank you for all he’s done. He’ll leave with good will from the fan base.

    When it’s time it’s time.

Eddie will stay until May and the board will decide.
But win one lose one or win two and lose two is no improvement on what I have experienced for 60 years. Nothing changes at Newcastle
