Newcastle return to St. James’ Park today in desperate need of a win after picking up just two points over the last four matches. The Magpies take on a Leicester City side that have beaten West Ham and drew against Brighton in their previous two matches, albeit at home.

This is the team Eddie Howe has named today. It has three changes from the disappointing defeat at Brentford last weekend with Martin Dubravka in for injured Nick Pope.

Anything but a win today would further complicate matters on Tyneside. The project has stagnated for the moment but Newcastle remain just six points from a European place.

@optimistic Murphy gave the ball away 4 times in the first half an hour and missed the target from a couple of chances inside the box so I think some stick was justified

That was one of our best halves this season. Hopefully we see a repeat and not a second half like West Ham, Palace or Brentford. That said Leicester are a terrible team

This game shoould be over….and it is concerning that it isn’t. Leicester look the worst team to visit us so far this season in the league. They offer nothing but Vardy needs just one chance.

Finally a goal from a corner!!! and not just any old goal, a truly wonderful bit of invention. Much better than the usual hit and hope lobs into the box.
Must admit I was cursing Murphy before the goal.
AG looks more fired up than I’ve seen him in a long time but what was that gentle Isak back pass to their keeper !!

I hope the players and coaches spotted this little detail, as I did:
Was checking Leicester strengths and weaknesses. Their only grade of “very strong” was ‘coming back from behind’.

Excellent first half there by the Toon, we comperhensively dominated them in every area of the pitch but it`s not reflected in the scoreline unfortunately, it really is a concern as long as it`s only 1-0, we need that second goal to put this game beyond doubt folks.

can you believe it wasn’t so long ago that people thought we wasted 30 million on Hall? nothing short of a 10/10 performance so far.

An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.

And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.

There are no treatments left for me to go on.

I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.

It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.

I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
