Murphy, Tonali, And Willock Start At Ipswich Town

Newcastle are back in action after two terrific victories, the second of which propelled the Magpies into the Carabao Cup semifinals where they’ll take on Arsenal. Today will provide another test for consistency, an attribute sorely lacking this season.

The lads travel down to Ipswich Town, a club back in the big time after back to back promotions. At the historic Portman Road, the Magpies and traveling supporters will be greeted by a familiar site; a statue of Sir Bobby Robson who led the Tractor Boys to great success early in his career.

Newcastle are in need of another win to climb the league table. The 4-0 win against Leicester last weekend helped close the gap but Newcastle remain 12th in the table. All three points at Ipswich could alter that position dramatically.

Here is the side Eddie Howe has named for this important away fixture. It has one change from the win over Brentford in the league cup with Joe Willock in for the suspended Joelinton.

This is who impressive Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has named for the hosts with local lad Leif Davis starting at left-back.

It’s vital Newcastle maintain their form from this past week and find some consistency. There’s no better time or place than today at Portman Road.

Howay The Lads!

Do any of you good folks have any inkling what time the Usyk v Tyson Fury fight kicks off tonight, from reading the Irish News here the coverage starts on Sky Box Office and TNT Box Office at 7pm, but i have no interest in watching the minor fights on the bill, so anyone know roughly what time the main event kicks off?

RH, super football and combinations. Tonali has made a huge difference. But we can’t rely on Murphy. We need 2 more top level outfield players, plus a better goalie, to seriously compete for cups and CL

    Munster,
It has been a really tough few months, do you know how much harder it has been to endure with the likes of you and your ostrich club, sharing all those You Tube video’s of people deliberately setting out to cause division in the fan base for clicks and to ultimately see the back of the manager. It’s been anything but fair and balanced, it’s been a vindictive onslaught trying to push people in to thinking the same way as yourselves.

I hope perhaps you were able to join in when we were 2 – 0 up?

One of the neighbours just brought me a bottle of Mulled wine for Christmas there, blended with cinnamon clove and citrus fruits, i normally never drink in the house, but after that football exhibition by the Toon today i decided to treat myself, i must say it`s going down a treat, hard to beat a few hot Mulled wines at this time of the year ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

With the suspension of Schar coming up, I was surprised Kelly did not get minutes. Does this indicate that Trippier may play RCD in the first leg of semi.

Randal Kolo Muani, very likely to leave PSG in winter transfer window as reported weeks ago and confirmed.

PSG and the 25 y/o striker are open to options where he can get regular playing time. Understand there are already several requests for a loan with an option to buy, especially from the Premier League.

    โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”

Can see him playing right wing and/or swapping with Isak to keep him fresh and maintain quality at the top of the pitch. Osula is too far away from being able to start in the PL and could probably do a loan move.

Still buzzing? You should be, what a performance!

On another subject, guess who’s leading the VAR table in terms of overturns or goals in a team’s favour?
    .
    .

    VAR – net score

    Newcastle +5
    Crystal Palace +2
    Manchester City +2
    Tottenham +2
    Brentford +1
    Brighton & Hove Albion +1
    Chelsea +1
    Leicester +1
    Aston Villa 0
    West Ham 0
    Wolves 0
    Fulham -1
    Manchester United -1
    Nottm Forest -1
    AFC Bournemouth -2
    Arsenal -2
    Everton -2
    Ipswich -2
    Liverpool -2
    Southampton -2

Nice thing about VAR, it’s a leveller.

Oh yes, VAR is clearly a leveller and confirms how badly the bindippers are treat. The scouse gits have been playing the victim card for years and it’s clearly paying off for them.

I think you’ll find with most genuine football fans of any club for that matter that they’re very fickle. Overjoyed and fulsome in their praise in the good times and equally expressing grave concerns in the bad.

For example if the penny has finally dropped that ST is at least 10 times the player that SL is and can actually play very well as a 6, then happy days.

However, I suspect that gormlessly showing blind faith and never questioning anything ever, whether due to a lack of knowledge or fear of that, is not particularly healthy. Nor is endlessly trying to point score when you could just enjoy the win and just leave it at that.

Jail, Im very happy its working out for Eddie and his team, I have never asked or said he should be sacked, I had not reached that point myself yet, but I was close.

I have said it a lot on here, first and foremost I support the club, then the manager and the players.

As fans we want to see winning football, and thats up to the manager and the players to get it right, get it wrong and that can turn very fast, We got relegated 2 times because we did not act fast enough to get rid of a manager, and I truly believe you would have been in the background shouting for them to stay or go one way or the other, which if you can do it, why can other not do it now?
We kept Rafa way to long, Bruce was kept way to long, both of them played football way to safe to keep their jobs, statistically both very similar in style and outcomes in matches.
Eddie has done a fantastic job since he arrived, but something changed this season which threw him off for a while, and its only been performances against the top 6 teams thats

thats kept us up in a good position, because our games against the bottom half teams before LCFC have been very poor. Notice i said games, because the full games were poor, like players were not playing for him in those games, but against the top teams, the players were showing that they still had it, for me thats a manager problem.
Good for him he has sorted it out, Because as a person, he is top top class.
