Hall, Joelinton, And Trippier Start Against Aston Villa

Newcastle will hope to continue their excellent form in a boxing day match against Aston Villa at St. James’ Park. It’s a clash in the upper half of the table between the two rising clubs.

The Magpies are on a tear winning three matches last week including the Carabao Cup quarterfinal. All victories were in convincing fashion having outscored their opponents 11-1.

This is the side Eddie Howe has selected for today’s fixture. It has two changes from the 4-0 win at Ipswich Town over the weekend with Joelinton back from suspension and Kieran Trippier in for Tino Livramento, who misses out through illness.

Here is the team Unai Emery has named for the visitors.

Howay The Lads!

I doubt very very much about anyone being successful in Eddie`s bingo today.

Whilst that McGinn is a good player – he does have a nasty side to him- for fouling. Looks like a bank robber.

Watching the Edinbugh derby here Hearts v Hibs , i didn`t realise Dwight Gayle is playing for Hibs now, and just as i speak he scores a classic trademark goal to put Hibs ahead.

In reference to Tino, i think it was an over indulgence in to much christmas stuffing that done the damage, Eddie kept that under wraps Bill 😀 😀

Gayle apparently announced he is indeed retiring at end of the season. He certainly played his part for us in lean times…

Who would’ve thought Pep getting questioned big time. He should’ve left then his legacy would’ve been intact. Not anymore. Can Pep coach an Everton? Not too sure.

I know people are saying sell Trips for PSR but there isn’t too many teams in England that have fullback quality of Trips, Tino, Hall and Targett as their main fullbacks ! That’s real quality depth

Although I do worry about our lack of pace at the back Tino is key to how we play by getting us out of jail

    That’s good Essex :).

    I like the forest coach.

    “What do you expect today?

I don’t know, you never know in football.”

    Says with a smile.

BTW, I saw Unai’s press conference too, earlier. Once you get into his “accentual” wavelength, a good down to earth interview.
