Hall, Joelinton, And Trippier Start Against Aston Villa

Newcastle will hope to continue their excellent form in a boxing day match against Aston Villa at St. James’ Park. It’s a clash in the upper half of the table between the two rising clubs.

The Magpies are on a tear winning three matches last week including the Carabao Cup quarterfinal. All victories were in convincing fashion having outscored their opponents 11-1.

This is the side Eddie Howe has selected for today’s fixture. It has two changes from the 4-0 win at Ipswich Town over the weekend with Joelinton back from suspension and Kieran Trippier in for Tino Livramento, who misses out through illness.

Here is the team Unai Emery has named for the visitors.

Forest still going well but a few results went for us yesterday with Wolves current revival helping us again 🙂

2 draws in tonight’s other fixtures would be good but let’s just win our game and keep our momentum

That’s the key thing I think, not to take the game lightly or be arrogant.

We all know they are there for the taking, i’m sure the players feel that way too. Just need to keep themselves grounded and treat it like any other game we’ve played recently.

If we do that, it could be another 3-0 or 4-0 victory in our favour.

    Adamn_92,
In saying all that it’s still Man U away and two wins in 30 years has a bit of a millstone factor for us. I’m pretty sure Howe will have them aware of this.

I just hope we don’t give the Howe oot brigade an excuse to gnashing their teeth tonight which surely they will if we fail to beat ‘the worst Man U team in 30 years’
It’s still away from home in a ground that hasn’t been our happiest hunting ground, you only have to look at Villa’s results at our place that show bogey grounds is a thing. Despite how bad they are atm, they’re not Ipswich either.

It’s agreed then, confidence not arrogance, endeavour not complacency.

Gonna be a looong day waiting for ko.

Might have to take her out somewhere as a distraction.

Games we need to impose ourselves on.

We are so much better than them currently
