Newcastle are carrying plenty of momentum into today’s first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal. Off the back of six straight wins, the lads will hope to continue the trend against Arsenal at the Emirates.
It will be a tough one with both Fabian Schar and captain Bruno Guimaraes missing through suspension. The lads will have to dig deep in the hopes of at least keeping the scoreline close for second leg at St. James’ Park.
Here is the side Eddie Howe has named. It has one change from Saturday’s win at Tottenham with Joe Willock in for Bruno.

Comment #5I don’t know why I do it to myself. I always have a not in my stomach before and during the games. It’s not really enjoyable this like.

Take a draw right now mate, this lot are different gravy to what we have played recently, they are unbeaten in 14 games i think.
I am bit concerned about Botman starting his second game in 3 days after being out for so long, i hope he doesn`t pull up with any injury.

Comment #11We have the momentum and confidence is through the roof, that goes for Arsenal aswell. I would be buzzing with a draw tonight but I’m expecting us to lose, hope I’m wrong. Just need to get into them from the start and not give them any time on the ball and see how it pans out.

Comment #15Strongest possible positive line up… Willock against his old team, the logical move (?).
Hoping for the win, but any kind of result that keeps the tie alive will do me.
With plenty of sh1thousery to fook with Arteta thrown in…

Comment #19Bruno will be a monumental loss tonight. No way willock is filling his shoes.
We can win for sure but I think without Bruno and a rusty Botman I reckon arsenal might edge it by a goal.
I’d take a draw.

Comment #21That’s an attacking line up from Eddie. Not taking a step back. If we go down, we go down attacking.
This is going to be entertaining

Comment #28want a win, would take a draw but losing by 1 goal would not be the end of the world. get them back home with hopefully a fully fit Sven, Schar, and Bruno back and those magnificent mags behind them.
