Botman, Isak, And Tonali Start Against Wolves

Newcastle are pushing for their ninth win in a row in all competitions. Today they take on Wolves at St. James’ Park as they hope to eclipse Chelsea into fourth in the league table with a win.

Here is the side Eddie Howe has named with Isak and Botman back after a rest in the FA Cup. One concern is Fabian Schar is not in the squad though Emil Krafth returns after a lengthy spell out.

This is the team Vitor Pereira has selected for Wolves.

Howay The Lads!

Mind you with Grimsby, just goes to show, you never know. I’m confident about today and next 2 games but can’t write anyone off

So the 11 league wins record and consecutive wins in all comps had muddied the waters a bit.

Simon…It would be so Newcastle to lose to a really poor team….so no worries today then, Bournemouth are a very good team 😆

I’ve got my 10 out of 10 somewhere, might be me mam’s attic, isn’t Gavin on the cover of it irrc?

Heavy tactical read from Kev but very interesting.

By the way it shows that the argument that Longstaff got less time than Tonali is flawed.

    Simon376,
No, we’ve had league cup and FA cup wins inbetween that. It’s a club consecutive win record of ten if we win today.

    Good Morning Folks,

I think it`s safe to say most fans don`t like these early kick offs, they really do seem to lack atmosphere.

You would assume we are pretty much guaranteed goals today, both teams in a rich vein of form, and like to play on the front foot, i`m expecting a very difficult game, but i`m tipping the Toon to win by the odd goal.

My prediction a 2-1 victory for the Toon,

We definitely won our first 11 league games in the first division in 92 season. I have a framed picture of it in the loft and video somewhere.

So Best Law and Charlton have all passed through the pearly gates, despite the club they played for, it would be remiss of me not to acknowledge they were all truly world class players.

Most of us will probably remember Dennis Law used to play with his shirt sleeves pulled down over his hands, he scored some wonderful goals in his time, but my favourite by a country mile was his audacious back heel flick to pretty much condemn Man Utd to the old second division when he was playing for Man City 😀

Now that really was a Carlsberg Magical Moment 😀 😀

    Simon376,
It’s two different records. This is a consecutive win in all comps of which we’ve never done ten before. We’ve a way to go and some very difficult fixtures if we are to beat our consecutive league sequence, City and Lpool away coming up soon.

    Today is the banana skin.
    Going for a narrow win.
Wolves could have scored a couple and they got better after our subs came on
We need to keep our foot on their throat for the full 97.
I would take their right winger

Then there’s the Premier league wins in a row as the previous 11 league wins was done in the second tier…and unless stated as “wins in one season” I’m gonna count it as 13 as we won the last 2 league games of the previous season. (I thought it was just the last game of Leicester away but we also beat Pompey in the penultimate game.) 😀

Bmouth love playing sjp. Their ground is a dump. Sjp seems to inspire them.
A12.30 ko, quick turn around since last game.
    All warning signs are there.
Hoping the momentum carries us over line.
2 1 would suit. Any win

Whatever happens from now it’s been a fantastic run whichever way you look at it, no teams equalled those last 9, no team has won their last 6 league games bar us. Forest have come closest dropping just 2 points, Liverpool have dropped 6 during that period, today’s opponents have dropped 8. I’m just gonna ride the wave while it lasts. A great set of results whether it ends today, in two games, in 8 games…what a team, what a coach, what a club. HWTL

That’s not to take away from their achievement as Man U and Chelsea have also been allowed to spend at will.

Bmouth will not like 12.30 either.
They played Tuesday? but will have travelled up on Friday and had their prep disrupted.
Maybe a 12.30 at home works better for us than them?
It just depends which team is the more alert.

Have I fallen for click bait again?
It is one report and honestly how would they know?
Apparently Marc Guéhi would be looking for wages of around 170K pw with any transfer.
I am not losing any sleep over this but just wondered considering he would not be on a “free” if anyone would think this is good value?
There are clubs who would pay that – hopefully not us.

When we had drifted down to 12th/13th I freely admit I was fickle, frustrated and over reactionary.

However, if someone starts doing things you want to see, ie Tonali now regularly starting over Longstaff and playing as a number 6, you can’t still be fickle, frustrated and over reactionary.

Nicky again just to say I have nothing against Longstaff whatsoever. Like Miggy he seems a very decent likeable lad and always gives 100%. However, Tonali is on another level entirely and I believe Miley is now much more than just potential ready to step in.

Now that Javea has mentioned it I do remember the run under KK. However, wasn’t that in the championship, can’t remember exactly as it’s very hazy.
