The Magpies are absolutely flying having won nine on the trot in all competitions. It’s Bournemouth at St. James’ Park on the docket in the early match today. The question is can Eddie Howe finally defeat his old club for Newcastle’s tenth straight win.
The Cherries have been exceptional this term under Andoni Iraola. They sit 8th in the table and defeated Newcastle earlier in the campaign. Hopefully, a raucous home crowd can push the lads to keep the winning streak alive.
Unsurprisingly, Howe has named an unchanged side today.

Comment #121Nout our best half and the two goals conceded have been really unlike us recently. Far too easy for the first and Bruno mistake for the second.
All to play for still and hopefully we come out stronger second half. Need to move it faster and switch it quicker.

Comment #122what its it wit hsoft eddie and his soft former team, he seems to have a soft spot for them and we always play poorly vs them, its simply pathetic how poor we have been that first half. i cannot stand bournmouth and there smug fans. we need to sort this out because it has been bad from minute one, we havent turned up today and there might aswell be no fans in that stadium because the atmosphere is as flat as a pancake, we should be puttin teams like this away but we are struggling at home. it simply isnt good enough.

Comment #123This was the banana skin. If we got through this we had another 2 wins after this one. But the win today now is looking very unlikely.

Comment #127Big Joe is walking a tight rope, he needs to keep his discipline otherwise we could be down to 10 men, it wouldn`t surprise me if Eddie replaces him with Willock or young Miley in the second half.

Too much made of the 550.
If Harry Bassett did that he’d have been lampoon’s.
Iraola has nailed us. Time for the players to show more. This could derail us badly.

Comment #131Howe has the best record of any Toon manager in the premiership, but apparently he doesn’t have a plan b, haha does that mean all the other managers didn’t even have a plan A?!
There was me thinking that Robson was a good manager

Comment #132How much have Newcastle spent compared to Bournemouth?
Whats our wages compared to Bournemouth.
Usual excuse whenever we lose to a top 6 team don’t see why it cant apply here aswell

Comment #134But even if Howe does implement a so called Plan B ion the 2nd half, what about Iraola’s Plan C, does that mean Howe needs a Plan D?

Comment #139The idea that Howe ‘doesn’t have a plan b’ is f*cking embarrassing he’s an elite premier league manager, some on here have the most rudimentary understanding of football. Not a coincidence they tend to be the first ones with the knives out whenever we’re off it.
Bournemouth have been excellent. Their press is irresistible – I wonder if they can keep it up? Iraola has a lot in common with Howe as a manager (and the injury list this season to prove it).

Comment #141I think you need to go round the training ground, see if they will let you in to amend Howe’s Plan B chalkboard, I don’t think Howe realises it’s that simple

Comment #142This is why we need a couple of new players this month but that does look like it’s going to happen so far.

Comment #145they havent truned up today and are getting turned over by a bang average Bournemouth side at st james park. every single player is not playing well. we are challenging for top 4 ffs man.
I hate these half 12 kick offs cause we never turn up, the atmosphere is absolutely pathetic.

Bmouth are very good and in form.
They have studied what we do and are ready for us to over play through Bruno.
The yellow card to Adams came a couple fouls too late but regardless you can see their tactic of shutting down Bruno in the midfield. Problem is we keep trying to force the ball to him when it isn’t on.
But a 2nd half to play and all the points are still there to be won
