Newcastle Unchanged Against Fulham At St. James’ Park

Newcastle are back at St. James’ Park today with Fulham on the docket. The lads course corrected at St. Mary’s last weekend after a horror showing at home against Bournemouth.

To look at the larger picture ahead of a crucial week for the club. The Magpies have won ten of the last eleven in all competitions and will be aiming for three more points for some momentum into the second leg of the league cup semifinals.

Unsurprisingly Eddie Howe has named an unchanged team.

Marco Silva has named the following team for the visitors.

Howay The Lads!

Yup, Wood’s scoring begs the question why we let him go.

Bill’s… From previous thread, yeah I agree ref Walker-Peters and I know he’s on a free this summer but as Mund said I can’t see him coming to be a squad player (which is what I believe he would be), love to be wrong and him to come though!

It seems that Rashford is off to Villa on loan with Man U covering a large portion of his wages. Duran’s just be sold for over his market price to help with PSR. The PSR rules for the EPL should be calculated based on the wages a player receives for the club he is playing for, irrespective of whether the parent club subsidises them. That would help with the issue of the Chelseas of this world subsidising loaning out players on high wages to other clubs.

There was a time recently when Man U would have contemplated loaning a player to Villa because Villa were so far behind them in the table that they were no threat. Now Man U are loaning a player to Villa because THEY are so far behind Villa that they’re not a threat. I’d feel ashamed if we were loaning good players to teams above us in the league.

Lille’s David is Canadian right. Yet apparently someone asking a relatable question is now a ”see you next Tuesday”.

    Raj, you say:-

” I wonder why the blog has dropped off a cliff these days, there can’t be more than twenty regular posters?”

Wow, the lack of self awareness is something to behold. Maybe people got fed up of wanting to go somewhere and express an opinion without being constantly verbally abused with foul language and made to feel unwelcome. Just a thought.

Be bloody ironic if forest kept us out of the CL places due to the performance of 3 ex nufc players 🙁

I see Forrest have not read them memo where they were supposed to start falling away, I have a soft spot for them, so as long as it does not cost us a CL spot, I say good on them.

Forest’s goal difference has now lept up so they’re just one goal worse off than us. That score could have more significance in the race for CL than just the three points.

Check I’m not sure why you think there is something off about Forest. They have a brilliant defence and some class outfield players and a smart manager. They will only get better, not worse.

Time to avenge the result to Fulham away in the reverse fixture. Trusting Eddie has reminded the Lads of that and has us ready and switched on for all 90 minutes.
