Botman, Burn, And Schar Start For A Chance At Cup Final

Newcastle just need a draw or a loss by one goal against Arsenal in today’s second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at St. James’ Park. The lads take a 2-0 lead from the first leg into tonight’s highly-anticipated match.

This is the team Eddie Howe has named for the cup clash with what looks to be a change of formation to a 5-2-3.

Arsenal is unchanged from their 5-1 trouncing of Man City on Sunday. This will be a difficult test with Howe seemingly opting to preserve the 2-0 lead. Whether that is wise remains to be seen.

Howay The Lads!

This is getting a tad worrying, we have no control in midfield

We will do well to not concede one or two tonight we don’t have control on the pitch at all.

I dont want to jinx it but so far Trippier has been phenomenal, leading all over the pitch like a general.

Isak and Trippier by far the stand out players.

Gordon and Tonali coming back into it, Murphy very quiet but he gets a pass for scoring

Mind I felt Isak’s “Goal” should have stood in my opinion he was in line with the defenders not in front of them!

Got to keep it tight in the 2nd half.

I’m not normally a violent man but can somebody punch Neville’s lights out.
Then follow up with the same on Havertz.

I think Arteta, Gabriel and Saliba are all having nightmares being terrorized by one Alexander Isak… 😉

I’ll be very disappointed if one of the Arsenal players doesn’t lose their rag and thump Trippier who is clearly trying to incite them to do just that and good for him. That’s what experienced players who have been in this position before do…wind up the opposition in an important game.
I hope we get to a situation in the second half where Isak is one on one with Saliba and heading for goal, and Saliba will have a decision to make as he’s already on a yellow.
