Botman, Burn, And Schar Start For A Chance At Cup Final

Newcastle just need a draw or a loss by one goal against Arsenal in today’s second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at St. James’ Park. The lads take a 2-0 lead from the first leg into tonight’s highly-anticipated match.

This is the team Eddie Howe has named for the cup clash with what looks to be a change of formation to a 5-2-3.

Arsenal is unchanged from their 5-1 trouncing of Man City on Sunday. This will be a difficult test with Howe seemingly opting to preserve the 2-0 lead. Whether that is wise remains to be seen.

Howay The Lads!

I think that loss 2 years ago will stand big time to us at Wembley I really do.

Liverpool will be tough but we can beat anyone if we play our best. Let’s hope we have no ket injuries between now and then.

Get in. Missed the first half so was a bit nervous turning the TV. But it was just in time to see Gordon score.
Arsenal totally rattled. We really get under their skin. 😀

Totally agree with magic. Rice is so overrated. I still can’t see why people rate him so much.

Never thought I would see a day when we would beat Arsenal 4-0 over 2 legs, unreal

And Howe’s Plan B tactic is not bad at all, he just needs to add the ‘pump it up to Burn for a hat trick’ Plan C tactic, and world domination is ours

    Magscar,

Sky so wanted the comeback, an Arsenal v Liverpool final .. Didn’t really start to truly praise us til’ it went to 4-0 on aggregate.

Fook the media, it’s OUR team anyway, couldn’t care less if it’s theirs…

    Trippier immense
    That’s leadership at its best.
When Bruno goes off he’s there to lead the applause.
On the pitch he tore a strip of Arsenal and dictated the play.
    Simply the best.

Yeah if he does go I hope and expect it would be abroad – why Arsenal anyway they’ve won one FA Cup in 5 years with better squad than us for most of that voice and more money spent

We need CL to keep our best players

Arsenal and Rice in particular are just flat track bullies. Their sole tactics is to win free kicks and corners and try and score from them. We combated that perfectly in the 2 games and they didn’t have the guile to create any other way.

EGB, Bill, that win was for you.
Eddie Howe Saved us from relegation, got us Champions League, 2 Wembley finals, all while being held back by EPL FFP, PRS. and every other jealous clubs.
What an amazing manager we have, out manoeuvred cry baby Arteta.
My son had his hotel booked ages ago he’ll go to the final and see us win that trophy, it will be the first final that I’ve missed since I started going in the sixties.
So we’ll be bound to win. Up the Mags.

So, Arteta given a tactical lesson by an excellent manager. He has no plan b, is slow and predictable with his substitutions and plays Rice, who has no pace or guile, as an attacking midfielder. He’s on borrowed time if he doesn’t win anything this season after all the money he has spent. 😉
