After reaching the League Cup final, Newcastle will try to advance in the FA Cup as they take on Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s this afternoon. The recently relegated Blues are on a strong run topping League One in a bid to get straight back to the Championship.
This is who Eddie Howe has selected for today’s match.

Comment #683Leazes Park is really the only town centre option and the one that is most acceptable to fans, even the ones most reluctant to leave SJP (imo). I think the club know this and that’s the reason everything has dragged out for so long cos there’ll be a lot of hoops to jump thru and they wanted to have many of the discussions before any official announcement. No point in announcing it and falling at the first or second hurdle.

Comment #684Billson – I’m pleased you got sorted and if it’s any consolation there were only lower category tickets left first thing this morning so you would not have got much better seats even if it had worked online.
A heads up to those in Pot 4 I went on the site earlier and there is no waiting time so I reckon most in Pot 3 have bought theirs and after a rough count I reckon there are about 2000 seats still available so tomorrow just before 12 o’clock get on the site!

Comment #686Raj re the box owners I read that a box can only be owned by a maximum of 4 people and all the rest are treated as guests so effectively only the owners get tickets. In most cases like a company owned one then probably fair enough but I’d guess some will be jointly owned by all 10 – not so fair!!!

Bill’s…Glad you got your tickets sorted out eventually. I’m sure you’ll both enjoy the game and the win even though you can’t sit together.

Bills Son Is Back, I hadn’t forgotten
But the verse that I’d written was really quite rotten
It had to be binned but now I’ve had more time
I’d like to think I’ve returned with a more suitable rhyme…..
Roses are red, I’ve some in my house

Nothing to do with being unable to take banter, I just thought that under the circumstances, another bedside vigil quip might be overstepping the line a tadย
Apparently not.
And there’s no cure for dementia I’m afraid, but I appreciate the sentiment
.
btw, I had to laugh at the irony of the ‘sensitive’ comment, this coming from a man with a long history of storming off in the huff, and recently announcing that it was his life’s mission to track down and damage a fella over something that got said on a football blogย ๐ย ๐
.
.
Regan insists that he likes a laugh
But you wouldn’t want him lurking around your gaff…
There once was a fella called Regan
Who’d ‘luv it’ just like Kevin Keegan
If he could come to your door
Break your nose and your jaw
And have your wife and your kids watch you bleedin’ย

Comment #711On first glance, it looks like it won’t effect us unless we were turned down for sponsorship deemed overvalued by the epl.
That could change though, if they deem that the rules should have been scrapped as they were and not just tweaked.

Comment #717No doubt they will be fined the token amount of ยฃ100,000 whereas both clubs should have 30 points deductions which would put Liverpool into mid table and see Everton relegated.
Everton, Liverpool and Arne Slot have been charged by the Football Association after the chaotic scenes at the end of Wednesday’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
The clubs have been charged with failing to ensure their players “did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way” after the final whistle.
Liverpool head coach Slot is charged with having acted “in an improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour” towards referee Michael Oliver and one of his assistants, which led to the Dutchman being red-carded.
Slot’s assistant Sipke Hulshoff, who was also sent off, faces a similar charge for his behaviour both before and after he was dismissed.

Comment #718Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim says the club will have to sell players if they are to buy anyone this summer.Despite being in the bottom half of the Premier League table, United only spent ยฃ25m on 20-year-old full-back Patrick Dorgu in the January transfer window. It has been stressed by club sources that, after losses of over ยฃ300m in the past three years, United’s profit and sustainability position is ‘tight’.
However, it has now been established that cost-cutting away from the first-team squad will continue, with another round of redundancies imminent and the London office likely to close.
Oh dear, their London office to close. What will 60,000 London based fans make of that ?
