Miley, Osula, And Wilson Start At Birmingham City

After reaching the League Cup final, Newcastle will try to advance in the FA Cup as they take on Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s this afternoon. The recently relegated Blues are on a strong run topping League One in a bid to get straight back to the Championship.

This is who Eddie Howe has selected for today’s match.

Here is who Chris Davies’ will send out for the hosts. Former Mag Grant Hanley is on the bench.

Howay The Lads!

So weird watching us play on an artificial pitch. All u see is sand every time the ball is kicked.

Osula reminds me a lot of Luis Diaz.

Well done Mitchell… 10 million now looks like a steal

That pass from longstaff to set up the goal was excellent too

    Osula definitely wasn’t Mitchell.

Howe has stated in a number of interviews that him and mad dog have been watching him for years and have always wanted him.

He’s the onky player Howe actually specifically said signing him was more his doing.

why is it they look a damn sight fitter then we do, its always the same with league 1 teams, we cant handle them, id make 2 changes for the start of the second half

should have gone 3-5-2 there not playing with an out and out striker there all coming forward, we are not picking up there men

If it’s decided that we ever need a real in your face “arsey” line of attack. I suspect :-

    Joelinton – Wilson – Osula

would fit the bill nicely 🙂

    crown/poet

Newcastle have 63 % possession. twice the amount of passes.

not sure how much better you could expect them to play…especially given 9 of 11 the players are fringe players/bench players who don’t play with each other week in/week out

Osula probably a litle unlucky in getting booked. In which he may be lucky to stay on the pitch in the 2nd as there must be 3 or 4 of the Birmingham needling him. Need to keep an eye on that.
