Gordon, Trippier, and Willock Start At Man City

Newcastle start a difficult stretch of matches at reigning title holders Manchester City today. As it stands, the two club are vying for a place in the top four with Newcastle in sixth and the Citizens one place above on goals scored.

This is who Eddie Howe has named for today’s match with Harvey Barnes back fit.

Here is who Pep Guardiola has selected for the hosts.

They have undone our press and undone our defence, which does not appear to be difficult. Plus they are playing both through and around our midfield. Just hope the boys can hold it together until halftime.

It’s like our physical game has gone out the window. Zero shithousery, no fouling to break up play, no wasting time to break up play and regroup. Nothing. Just shock and players reacting as individuals

Top four/five no chance – we are far to consistent at losing at certain grounds Bournemouth, Forest don’t look like they are going to slip up

Man City back to their best – not sure how much is due to our allowing them by our lacklustre performances across pitch amd they now have their tails up

Couple of decent performances but we’re losing out in every area at moment including midfield

It’s a long way back and unless Eddie can get them out of this malaise quickly it’s going to get worse

    Changes at half time ?

Willock and Tripps off maybe Barnes on later?

Khusanov has Des Walker pace. Has Gordon nailed when he gets close. This lot will walk the league next year

But if you cannot attack them, they look brilliant

Schar is not a good defender and he never has been. It’s masked by his forward play. Hall is too slow will only be effective when other defenders are fast. The rest of our cbs are slow. The only single fast defender we have is Tino.

Expected more from Gordon on Khusanov, but Willock doesn’t supply passes down the left he always looks in field on his right foot.

Tactically awful from Eddie. Instead of fronting up like we did away to Arsenal etc we just showed them a tonne of respect.

    Embarrasing

1st City goal our CBs weren’t central and our RB tried to head the ball which BDB would have reached. Easily. Hall was AWOL

The only way to beat Coty is to attack them.
If you show them respect they will take the piss.
