Pope, Tonali, And Wilson Start At Liverpool

Newcastle downed third-placed Nottingham Forest on Sunday at St. James’ Park but now face an even tougher test; a trip to league leaders Liverpool, who look destined to end Manchester City’s stranglehold on the division.

The Reds are a test Newcastle have failed to pass in recent history. It’ll take a top performance to get anything from tonight’s fixture.

This is the team Eddie Howe has named featuring two changes from the weekend. Alexander Isak misses out with a groin problem.

Arne Slot has selected the following lineup for the hosts.

Do you think I was the only person who questioned Pope replacing dubs or trippier replacing tino or having 2 keepers on the bench?

Other nufc fans platforms seem to have far more balanced views and can discuss things rationally. They’re called opinions.

You calling people arrogant is insanely hypocritical. In reality is it not you who lacks education.

    New law incoming.

A goalkeeper holding the ball for more than eight seconds will be punished with a corner for the opposition from this summer.

The new law was unanimously approved by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) at its annual general meeting in Northern Ireland on Saturday, and will be in place at Fifa’s Club World Cup, which takes place in the USA from 15 June to 13 July.

Under the current law keepers should be punished if they hold the ball for more than six seconds, with the opposition being awarded an indirect free-kick.

You’ve cracked it – that’s what I think we need – some “excitables” (except for the new GK that is, I would prefer them to be more staid). Hope the Dutch Transfer guru is reading this.

The Football Association has said the record eight-minute VAR stoppage during Bournemouth’s FA Cup fifth-round win against Wolves was caused by a congested penalty area.

Mundapants and for the information of Magic.

    Under 10s play 7 a side.
Under 11s ( year 6 at school ) you go to 9 a side with the off side rule being introduced.

Next year your under 10s won’t be playing 11 a side.

    Matchday

    Another must win

We should have beaten them in PL but got mugged after a good start as I recall

No game for over a week to follow and hopefully with at least one or two returnees so Eddie should have a choice in a no of positions

Given Isak’s groin issue, its the FA Cup and as Wilson and Osula should be available I reckon at best isak is on bench but most likely nowhere near ( might even miss West Ham) to have fit for Carabao Cup final).

Then there’s keeper and defence to consider and like most I have views which no doubt will differ from what Eddie does especially as he knows the injury score and who is fatigued after the previous 3 games

He will put out what he believes is his strongest side though, as Brighton definitely will as this is there only chance of a trophy

Eddie’s bingo will challenge even Magic as there are likely to be tricky considerations in midfield as well and possibly more than just Isak’s position in front 3 to consider

So I’m not going to guess at starting 11 just expect and hope that it will be one to win this last 16 tie and take us into quarters without our nails bitten even further down after Forest game just over a week ago

There’s a few tricky sides left in with another PL side to fall after our match but no doubt every side will want to avoid Man City as unbelievably it’s their only chance of a trophy …and it’s not even Easter

If you believe in fate ( and of course we manage to get through this round which is by no means a given) then maybe a bet on our B run continuing and as our next opponent – Bournemouth ?

Just a home draw would be enough but….
……let’s concentrate on this tie and let quarter draw take care of itself with us still in it (please)

With the final of that other Cup nearly on us and our tapered off performances we need a first half Forest performance throughour but without giving Brighton a goal stsrt !!!

I’m going for a tight win hopefully without needing extra time and God forbid the trial.of penalties – but I can see it could come to that

I said at start that it’s a must win – not only because it’s a no replay Cup game but in reality all our games are just that, as we reach the sharp end of the season needing at least one way into Europe, hopefully CL

We need to get both cup and league performances to our best level , no ramshackle, misfiring half’s with all minds just on the game immediately in front

Crowd will be important but we won’t be under the lights which can help but with a few bevvies hopefully revved up to roar us through

I did not have to do any research. I was at an Under 11s game yesterday. We got a canny win as it happens.
All of the facts I have mentioned and will mention are well known to anyone involved in kids football. Coaches, Helpers and Mams and Dads.

You seem to know nowt for someone who claims to be the coach.

Everything I said was factual and not at all rude.

Here are a few more facts you seem to have wrong.

Bookings and fines. That starts at Under11s, so that’s been the case all season if you are running an Under 11s outfit.

There will be a league, promotion and relegation. Only difference for Under 11s is the league table is not available to the general public. I do believe the coaches can access it though.

😆 see you don’t have a clue fella

No fines this year at all and why would there be as there is no bookings until next year when it goes 11aside. So tell me how does a player get a fine if there is no actual cards given out?

Right just to educate you as you’ve dived in feet fist here.

The promotion or relegation for any grassroots footballing clubs between the ages of under6s to under11s is up to the club itself. There is no league format for promotions or relegation until it goes 11aside. There is no league winners until it’s 11aside. Lots of clubs will work out where or whereabouts they may be and claim they are the best however there is no official league winners until 11aside. No fines or official placings until that time.

If I want to learn some BS I’ll give you a shout fella

Mudapants. You say you made a mistake and it’s an Under 11s team you run and not an Under 10s. That’s fine, easy done.

However, you now say that next year there will be fines when you go to 11 a side.
Mundapants. Next year your Under 11s team will be a Under 12s team.

    Under 12s still play 9 v 9. Certainly not 11 a side.

You do not play 11 v 11 until Under 13s.

If anyone wants to fact check that just go to the Russell Foster Youth League site. Search on RFYL. Check it for yourself. You can look at the league tables and see.
    Under7s and under 8s 5v5
    Under 9s and Under 10s 7v7
    Under 11s and Under 12s 9v9.
Under 13s on it is 11v11.

I can tell you now Under 11s ( year 6 at school ) can get booked. Seen it done.
Refs are reluctant to in most cases.

Promotion and relegation. The coaches know who is where in the league.
It does tend to be flexible as a lot of teams change or even fold over the summer months.

I don’t think the atmosphere is going to be great magicmac54 so the players are going to have to generate one. Only 1K Brighton fans so no or little noise there to spark one off, a 14:00 on a Sunday against middling opposition doesn’t get your spine tingling either.
