Pope, Tonali, And Wilson Start At Liverpool

Newcastle downed third-placed Nottingham Forest on Sunday at St. James’ Park but now face an even tougher test; a trip to league leaders Liverpool, who look destined to end Manchester City’s stranglehold on the division.

The Reds are a test Newcastle have failed to pass in recent history. It’ll take a top performance to get anything from tonight’s fixture.

This is the team Eddie Howe has named featuring two changes from the weekend. Alexander Isak misses out with a groin problem.

Arne Slot has selected the following lineup for the hosts.

I think this year we will see a non cartel team win the fa cup. So many of the bigger teams have already fallen. It could be us but today’s game will be very tough. We never do well against Brighton, but we’re at home and they are bringing only a handful of fans. Can Eddie get our players in a mood to be fully committed to get the win. They are playing for final places so shouldn’t be difficult. Who’s left. City, Villa, Bmouth, palace, Preston. It’s open this year. Must go for it.

Good afternoon all, thanks to you all for the kind posts regarding my old girl, it is well appreciated.
It`s match day and i have just missed out on 2 tickets for the game, i replied to my pals txt 10 minutes too late, jeez, you have to be quick..
Never mind, i still have the Brentford game to look forward to.
As for todays game, i honestly think it`s going to be a bit of a damp squib with hardly any atmosphere, hope i am wrong.
Im not expecting a performance which will be spoken about for long, we might sneak a win ,it depends on our attitude and who is UP for the game.
Im not expecting Isak to start, but here is an option.
How about Gordon through the middle , with Barnes on the left and Osula on the right, bringing on Murphy after 60 mins , plenty of pace there.
Where is Wilson you say, well id heard he was injured again so it`s as yo were.
Release Wilson in the summer, it`s about time Howe started getting ruthless and said goodbye to his favourites

Isak and Joey back, Bruno rested.

Botman still not even a sign of him. He is going to be one of the crocked players isn’t he 🙁

Interesting that Trips or Tino are playing at left back

Guessing Tino will be left back ? Him with his strong foot against the inverted winger of Brighton?
