Pope, Tonali, And Wilson Start At Liverpool

Newcastle downed third-placed Nottingham Forest on Sunday at St. James’ Park but now face an even tougher test; a trip to league leaders Liverpool, who look destined to end Manchester City’s stranglehold on the division.

The Reds are a test Newcastle have failed to pass in recent history. It’ll take a top performance to get anything from tonight’s fixture.

This is the team Eddie Howe has named featuring two changes from the weekend. Alexander Isak misses out with a groin problem.

Arne Slot has selected the following lineup for the hosts.

Howay The Lads!

2 nilwould be decent for us.
If they play like this in the final we can beat them but I doubt they will.
Playing in 3rd gear. Now thinking about Paris game

Embarrassing again. Other managers don’t approach big games like this

I hope it’s a ploy for the final

Too many bang average players still lingering about the club letting us down. players from the bruce/benitez days still here. we need a massive clear-out and some massive additions to have any chance of ever getting champions league again. that season we finished top 4 the buzz has well and truly died out and reality has sunk in. the squad just isn’t good enough apart from some of our newer elite players.

Take Salah, Szoboszlai or Macalister and VVD out of that team to match Botman, Joe and Isak and it’s a more even match.

Bottom line is no shots on target and maybe no shots at all?
Isak would have had little impact coz we created nowt
    Good idea to rest him

I know we’ve had zero attempts on goal but they’ve only had two.

Any lessons learned? Not really. We know they’re a good team, but we can stand up to them. We’ll need a little luck too.

Can we beat them? Is there even a chance?

    Sure.

Yeah Howe is so useless at Tactics and team selection, that he accidentally got a win percentage of nearly 55/60% this season

    How thick can you be?!

Once i saw NO Issak i guessed we would struggle tonight and by the look of it Liverpool havent got out of second gear. Pity but this season is more about quilfying ofr europe next year than beating the likes of a very strong liverpool in their back garden,
