Newcastle look to stretch their victory streak to 7 straight at Villa Park this afternoon. The Magpies have climbed to third in the table and a result at Aston Villa would keep this black and white train rolling.
As expected, the team remains unchanged as Jason Tindall takes the reins for the third straight match.

Comment #7Jimiley yeah if we get champions league i expect tonali to stay another season. No point selling a player who makes the team tick

Comment #10Tonalis agent has already said this season he has no interest in returning to Italy and loves this league.
He ain’t going to Italy.
Why do people always get fooled by rubbish media click bait and rumours.

Fancy us to get a result. Think Villa have way more pressure on them and we can make them even more worried about having to get a result, by getting an early goal.
Keep the confidence and momentum going with another big 3 points.

Comment #12There are massive advantages to being able to play the same eleven.
The changes Villa have made at the back, starting Mings and Maatsen, might be a benefit in terms of fitness but a negative in terms of familiarity and positioning.

I’m a bit tight about today.

Yes it`s disappointing Man City getting those two late goals today mate, although if the Toon do the same today to win the match i will certainly not complain marra.

Comment #17Emery is talking about attacking this game. A very bold statement, the way our front 3 are playing.
A draw would be a great result, considering Villa are favourites, but it wouldn’t be unreasonable to have some expectations of doing more.
I’ve been a huge fan of Barnes from the start. Great to see him showing what he’s capable of.

The Italian press are the absolute worst in Europe when it comes to just printing whatever the hell they like – it’s like the English gutter press on nationalist steroids. If they’re linking a player – particularly an Italian one – to one of their big clubs it’s almost always bullsh*t. Amazed anyone would be taken in by these links, especially at the mad prices being quoted like 65mil or whatever.

Comment #19IrishRob @14, we’re 5 points ahead of villa , so the way I see it is the pressure is on them. They fail to win and remain 5 points behind, and they’d have to go head to head with city, Chelsea and forest, with only two of those teams (in addition to nufc) able to make the CL places.
Pleased that after today’s game we have a week or so between games. Able for the lads to give their all every game and their quest for CL places.
I’d take a draw today, a win and it would be a fantastic outcome. Providing we don’t get any injuries or suspensions.

Comment #20Villa are 5 points behind us but they need to better us by 6 points in the remaining matches because there’s an 18 goal difference in our favour which they won’t make up.

Tough match but we have had Villa’s number last few times.
I think the yellow card counter reset after last game so big Joe should have a little bit more freedom to be physical.

Comment #22Villa out with the flame throwers again.. if you needed any clue they see it as a big match there u go. They won’t care about the cup next week this will be the only thing on their mind.
This is our biggest test of the season. It’s a match that’s not crucial we win and were away to a team who only lost once there all season.
Win this and ill be impressed, draw this and ill be happy. But I don’t see anything except a loss. Just me being realistic.
