Newcastle Unchanged At Villa Park

Newcastle look to stretch their victory streak to 7 straight at Villa Park this afternoon. The Magpies have climbed to third in the table and a result at Aston Villa would keep this black and white train rolling.

As expected, the team remains unchanged as Jason Tindall takes the reins for the third straight match.

Here is who Unai Emery has selected for the hosts.

We just need to watch that ball over the top, as Watkins has to much pace for Big Dan and Schar.

    This is now winnable.
They are getting a bit frustrated and niggly so we need to get at them in and around the box.
We’re creating more space now and as they get more gung ho we can pick them off.
Gordon will be up for it and he could do the business for us.

1st time in a while we’ve played a team with proper pace in the middle and it shows

Although we are doing better than normal although Trippier having a tough game

Still think we can win this though

Great attitude from the players after leaking that early goal.

The players looked completely unfazed, heads in the game, and straight back to the business of putting the score right.

Keep Watkins a bit quieter in the 2nd half. It could be there for the taking.

Watkins’ movement is excellent and it’s not the first time he’s given our back four the runaround – our lack of pace and speed of turn at the back is very telling.
After the first 10 mins, we settled better.
We have to reduce the time they have to play long balls to Watkins.
    Still everything to play for.

Well done to the lads, we have weathered the storm after they have basically thrown the kitchen sink at us in that 1st half, and this match is still well in the balance, it`s still all to play for in the second half.

Tripps might need to hang back and not get too far forward as he’s not got the legs to get back to their very fast long passes down the flank.
Frustrated them and then boss them.
Next goal for us will do their heads in after their CL loss

Hoping we can stay in it, keep it tight, and hit them late on for our winner. Playing on Tuesday, imo no way can they keep this up for another 45+ minutes.

Any winner for us will be massive, bring on little joe and AG and their tiring defence will be lambs to the slaughter. Here’s hoping anyway.

Trips is getting caught forward. Their winger has clear run into the box and CBs. It’s too easy. We need to sort that side out as it will bite us

Getting bossed all over the pitch especially midfield – giving them to much space. Watkins got our centre backs crapping themselves. Trippier poor is Murphy and Isak on the pitch.
Tonali Barnes, Livramento and Big Joe(never a booking) having decent games.
Got to keep going as they look fragile at the back to – somehow got to get hold of the ball in midfield.

The team looks leggy. Not enough energy.
Hang on for the draw or hope Isak does a bit of magic
