Botman, Burn, And Gordon Start Against Chelsea

Newcastle have a golden opportunity at St. James’ Park to stake a Champions League claim today. A victory and Newcastle will eclipse Manchester City into third with just two matches remaining in the campaign.

It won’t be easy as today’s foe is Chelsea, who are also pushing for a top five finish. The Blues bring a five match winning streak into this match after booking a place in the Europa Conference League final a few days ago.

This is the team Eddie Howe has named with Dan Burn likely moving to left back for the injured Kieran Trippier.

Here is who Enzo Maresca fields for the visitors.

Howay The Lads!

Chelsea trying to slow the pace and tempo of the game down, we need to relentlessly to to keep on a full blooded press when we get the opportunities.

Rob for me Chelsea are looking slow and ponderous at the moment mate, in comparison Newcastle look a real threat everytime we attack them with pace and purpose.

Thank God Neto is no Darwin Nunes lol. I still have nightmares about those 2 world class goals that muppet scored against us when they were a man down. Never did anything like that against any other team

Barnes unlucky to have been moved to the right, he deserved to keep his position, Gordon has done nothing much so far.
Another goal early second half would help settle the nerves.

The lads need to take some shots, not continually try to walk the ball into the net!

Come on lads, run up the Goal Differential against these guys!
