Confusing? Full Explanation - It Soon Won't Be!
Note: this post is just to explain the new Newsfeed option.
The new format of NEWSFEED articles like everything new will start off confusing - it has even confused me so you are not alone š
The original plan was that NEWSFEED posts would only appear on the Newsfeed page but unfortunately I have been unable to configure that in Wix's system.
The other confusing part was that comments on Newsfeeds should have been disabled from the start but I failed to press SAVE so comments initially appeared - that has now been corrected.
Note: the reason why I have introduced the Newsfeeds is twofold; one, to add up to date news in addition to the 'general discussion' posts that have been the standard feature and, two, because it makes it easier for search engines to index articles and give the blog more exposure on Google and Bing.
To illustrate that: within minutes of the Ginola post being published Bing had it featured in their news section at the top of the page.
If this continues with other Newsfeed articles we will get more site visits, more member sign ups and more comments, views and opinions for us all to enjoy.
The Key Fact to Remember!
Any post headed NEWSFEED isn't open to comments.
The reason being that I may post 3-5 Newsfeed articles a day - in addition to general discussion posts - and if comments were enabled on Newsfeeds that would fragment and scatter comments making it almost impossible for 'conversations; to be continued on general discussion post as they are currently.
In that regard it is little different from Jezza's Bingo where no comments are allowed only Bingo entries - it took a week or three for members to get used to that but now it's hard wired in.
The same will soon be wired in with Newsfeed articles - read them to keep up to date with the latest breaking Toon news and if you want to make comments just upload them on to the current general discussion post as you do now.

I personally find the layout above to be a bit confusing because if you click on "Blog" you go to a page with "everything" on it whereas if you click on "Newsfeed" you only get Newsfeed articles!
If both "Blog" and "Newsfeed" selections led you to those articles alone it would be fine

I mentioned in the explanation that Wix doesn't allow me to exclude Newsfeed articles from the Blog link - I've left both links in because we have far more visitors than members and visitors may only want to read the latest Newfeeds instead of discussion articles.
I know any change as big as this can be confusing at first but I amā¦

I also find it confusing that the lower option of "All Posts" is, or should be, Blog Posts and "Latest Newcastle United News" is, or should be, Newsfeed Posts! š¤
