Who Are Newcastle United's Most Underrated and Overrated Players?
Since the Everton defeat the blog has been dominated by opinions about Matthias Jaissle and the quality of the signings from the last two summer transfer windows and it raises the question; are the performances of any players being misjudged?
Other than Lewis Hall, and possibly Joe Willock because of his goals, are any other players performing well; and are any currently being over or underrated?
Lewis Hall doesn't count because he can't be overrated, whatever rating he has is exactly what our star left back deserves.
Other than Sean Steur, who currently can't get a start, the signings from the past two windows aren't getting rave reviews but have we seen any signs that suggest their potential is being underrated?
One fact appears prominent at this stage of the season; despite being in a healthy 8th position in the PL the team isn't functioning well and the middle of the table is so congested that a couple of wins or defeats can rocket a team up or down the placings.
So...
Who do you think is being over or underrated either by other fans or by Jaissle in his team selections?
What will be most interesting from the opinions will be who is underrated - my guess is overrated players will head the two options.
Depends what its measured on and who does the ratings so you can asess their ratings on things. If we are talking about price tags , if we are talking about the media's view on ability of a player and so on.
Wissa had 1 good season and people thought we were buying another andy cole or jermain defoe etc , so he's overrated .
Woltemade cost 69m had half a season of scoring goals at a good level and a few goals for germany against poor sides and people made him out to be a superstar.
Its the same with osula. He had one good run in the team where he scored goals and has a great goal rati…
People are asking why Bamba was bought if he's not playing, if anyone remembers, Liverpool bought Konate for big money and didn't play for a season, Arsenal bought Saliba and he never played, there must be dozens of examples where big money signoings take awhile to bed in.
