Sandro Tonali, a Gem of a Player

Whilst, rightly, Bruno Guimaraes got the plaudits and headlines for his late winning goal against Fulham, Sando Tonali yet again had a big impact in his time on the pitch.

Coming on a s a sub when the Lads had done everything after Fulham equalised but put the ball in the net, there were some tired legs on the pitch after the heroics against Benfica in midweek.

Young Lewis Miley has great quality but he isn't the type of all action swashbuckling player that Tonali is.

Bringing on Tonali at that stage of the game when a step up in gear was needed was like handing a sword to a Gladiator in the Coliseum,

If Bruno is the heartbeat and soul of Newcastle United, Tonali is the brains and lungs.

Fuelled by eating spaghetti and drinking Moretti, and outstanding technically, Tonali moves from a defensive interception to a one two on the edge of the oppo's box in the blink of an eye.

That old song of "He's here, he's there, he's every f,,,ing where" should be Tonali's theme tune.

Add in a hell of a shot and Sandro is one gem of a player, there isn't another midfielder in the Prem like him. Magpies steal gems and we stole a cracker by pilfering Tonali for just £55M.

News that he has extended his contract and that he and his wife love living in the area is music to Geordie ears and a Gladiator's sword in the heart for the likes of Juventus who covet him.

Having visited Milan in the summer I can vouch that it isn't a patch on the toon.

There isn't a Wetherspoon's in sight and the pizza's are half the size and twice the price of those from the takeaway's in the Bigg Market.

We've already forgotten about Alexander Isak after the storming start of big Nick Woltemade to his NUFC career...

But Sandro Tonali is one player we'll never forget... and let's hope this gem sparkles brightly for many more years to come at Newcastle United.

Magscar

Neither really, although a good friend is Rangers and he needs all the help he gets.

Great view of the Anderson saga...

On Anderson apparently Forest because of our PSR crisis were in complete charge of terms and wouldn't contemplate a buy back so in our desperation a fait accompli

At a net price of £15M ( we seperately took an overpriced and unwanted keeper for £20M to satisfy their PSR issues ) they got an even bigger bargain

We'd wanted Elanga but no way he'd have been allowed to go for £20M

Is having a gun pointed at your head a negotiation 😉

Anyway Mitchell who arrived after deal anyway can't be blamed

Nobody including Anderson wanted deal but blame more lies in the year(s) before when Staveley (or less likely Ashworth) misjudged our impending PSR issues

Being a Friday there's apparently no scheduled PL Boxing Day games.

Possibly one being scheduled for TV purposes.

That's just wrang as they say north of the border.

The Celtic owner is not without controversy as his Wiki pages suggest.

Latest is that his statements of Rodgers could be defamatory so expect incoming legal activity.

Maybe going to Celtic would be a way out for Slott and he could take Isak with him to fulfil his ambitions.
