Toon To Sell Woltemade & Target A New Striker?

Newcastle United will prioritise the signing of a striker in the summer transfer window, with the club already looking to sell Germany 23-year-old Nick Woltemade following his club-record move in August. (Football Insider)
That is the rumour this morning - and it wouldn't surprise me if it is true.
Whether on not Woltemade could be deemed as a panic buy near to deadline day the fact is he is a totally different type of striker to the one's that Eddie wanted and had also tried to sign previously - Pedro and Ekitike.
Despite making a good goalscoring start to his time at Newcastle there was always the doubt that his style suited our high press, quick break play. His tendency to drop deep, often into our half, along with his lack of pace is another negative that reduces our threat on a transition.
What is also becoming evident is that, despite his size, he is not adept at winning balls in the air with his back to goal and is too easily dispossessed in a challenge.
Add in the fact that he hasn't scored in 14 games and has been left out of the team on a number of occasions recently and the rumour becomes more believable.
My view, expressed in previous posts, was that Eddie had to make a decision on any player he did not think could take the club forward. Those players had to sold, even if that included any of the summer signings,
To get the best out of Woltemade we need to change our style of play and play to his strengths.
If Eddie doesn't think that is the way forward for the team then Woltemade has to be sacrificed.
Do you think we should target a new striker?

So basically we have three centre forwards sitting on the bench and a winger who although he presses well and (defends) from the front struggles to score from open play. For a team like Newcastle who worships a good no9 and has had some brilliant strikers in the past this is so depressing and hard to watch. Can’t even begin to think what emotions shearer must go through watching this on match day
Aston Villa v Newcastle: Match Preview, Team New, Prediction
Our breakdown this season on whos been at CF
Gordon 522 minutes. 2 goals and an asisst.
Wissa 749 minutes. 3 goals and a asisst.
Woltemade 2078 minutes 9 goals and 2 asissts
Osula 391 minutes. 3 goals and a asisst.
The stats would suggest osula has been the most efficient , but 2 goals were against league one.
Woltemade has done alright overall despite not really being a natural fit , but again those goals all came more or less in his 15 or 16 apparences.
It certainly looked to me at time that Bruno was looking to come off then changed his mind . As I said other day Eddie should have taken charge . Whether or not he had a suitable replacement of bench is immaterial
But its Matchday.... and with usual one step forwards and 2 back
I'm expecting not the "manager speak " of a side to win it but probably Eddie's strongest side regardless of the trip to Baku. Emery will no doubt however apply the " side to win it" mantra
That may give us a chance in one of the trickiest ties we could have faced.
Villa have arguably 2 bigger considerations than FA Cup...CL qualification and winning Europa…
For tactical reasons . For the high press and the way howe wants to play /prefers to play gordon is basically isak's replacement at the moment . Gordon is obviously no isak ,but he's the only one who can run in behind, run the channels , make room for others and press effectively at CF plus understands the role best. That's the dambning issue for the CFs we have bought. Wissa is more of a poacher than anyone we got but he almost looks like another papiss cisse . Offside a lot and needs things on a plate otherwise he is largely anonymous. Woltemade just doesnt work in the system howe wants to play. He doesn't lack the effort…
