Match Highlights.

I didn't watch the game last night as we had company but I've watched the highlights and it was good to see Wissa get two goals and some good play from Steur and Toure.

What the highlights show is a horrendous tackle on Elanga.

I know some fans have said with it being a friendly the lad shouldn't have been sent off but I can't agree with that.

That could have been a season ending tackle and diving in like that in any match, and especially a 'friendly' is bang out of order.

Woltemade

I've read fans saying that Woltemade had a poor game and I think this is one of the biggest decisions Jaissle has to make over the next two weeks.

If, as seems likely, Osula and Wissa are going to fight it out for the ,main ST position that leaves Jailssle with deciding to use Wolt as a 10... or not at all.

If it's not at all then where do we got with Big Nick?

Out on loan or a straight sale and cut our losses?

I know it's only one gane but the debate on Woltemade has reared it's head again and won't go away unless he starts performing, and quick.

That's all for now...

I'll be back later with another article.

It'll be interesting to see what team he starts with against Everton. Will he play BDB at ledt back if Hall isn't available or continue with Pivas. Will he have Shahah at right back or play Jamie Miley there. Wissa or Osula up front. Being a friendly I guess there are many permutations and he'll want to give minutes to players to get them fit.

Is it just us (some/many?)Toon fans who can be overly critical and fickle towards certain players? Or is it the same for football supporters at every club? Could it be an ‘in the DNA’ thing generally for sports fans?

That’s enough questions for now.🤓 It’s a canny big reset we’re going through so we’ll need to be a bit more patient (again) just to give MJ and his coaching team a chance to get their feet under the table, then decisions will be be made as the season progresses. 😁

I have never known fans to go on about a single player at the club, as much as everyone talks about Woltemade. Poor bloke can't even play his first game of pre season, to build fitness and sharpness, without some laying into him and saying he won't make it lol

Seen on X/Twitter, that some fans have said how unimpressed they were with Bamba too. Christ, it's a pre season game and some of these players first minutes! Hardly going to be at the top of their game immediately. It's wild to start dragging them down and talk negatively of them already.

I was actually really pleased with what I saw of Bamba, I think we have got ourselves a real player there.

I hope Pope gets a send off if he does go, a wave to the crowd on one of the weekend games.
