Yoane Wissa Showing His Best Form for Newcastle and DR Congo

Yoane Wissa appears to be finding his best form again after making an encouraging start to the new season for both Newcastle United and DR Congo.
After a difficult first campaign at St James' Park, Wissa has started this season with renewed confidence and, importantly, is finding the net again.
The £55m forward has already scored in the Premier League this season, while his goalscoring form isn't restricted to club football.
Wissa also scored for DR Congo at this summer's World Cup, and his latest international goal against Equatorial Guinea means he has now scored an impressive seven goals in his last 11 appearances for his country.

Are Newcastle Starting to See the Real Wissa?
That international record is particularly encouraging for Newcastle and especially since he is playing in a main striker role.
Under Matthias Jaissle's 4231 system he has alternated between playing the 10 and ST role and, although he has looked sharper as a 10, that changing of position from the start and during a game will take some adjusting to.
And as we know, confidence can make a huge difference to a player and strikers especially, so continuing to score regularly for DR Congo suggests Wissa is currently playing with plenty of it.
Another encouraging sign is that even at 30 his pace and energy doesn't show any sign of dropping off and he could still be an effective player for Newcastle for another two seasons or more.
Wissa is also part of the senior player group and is said to be a highly encouraging presence for our young players both in training and the dressing room.
His whole on-field personality and body language is a mile away from what it was last season and if he can find his Congo goalscoring form with the Toon that £55M fee could yet be seen as money well spent.
If Wissa and Pardo can develop a good understanding between them in their respective roles we just might see the Wissa who scored 19 goals for Brentford - none from the penalty spot - in the season before he joined us.

This City saga is going to take some determination from football fans to tolerate. The EPL now. need to announce the punishments without delay.
They have to be relegated out of the Football Leagues. Anything less and it will look like a cover up and Masters and co. would then be exposed to scrutiny.
Might mean City would need 5 years minimum to get back to the PL providing they are not wound up in the meantime. That's a fraction of the years they've been proven to have been cooking the books.

Also I've heard some excuses in my time but tonight some of the pundits claiming the Man City players made mistakes because the charges against Man City were on their mind - simply unbelievable!!!
Two things I couldn't understand tonight. We couldn't play through Spain's press so why not go long for a bit to relieve pressure but no we kept on playing out and losing the ball in dangerous places.
Secondly the substitutions were shocking - taking off our arguably best player Gordon and not even replacing with a proper winger and then did the same with Saka in the other side - we lost all our width!!
