7 Months of Away Misery Ends - Thanks to Thiaw, Woltemade... and Pickford
This was another City like barnstorming and rampant performance that finally got the away day monkey off Eddie and the Toon's back.
Two wins on the trot has taken us up to 11th and with three home games out of the next four - and the away game at Sunderland - we can now dare to look on the bright side of life.
Repeat these last two performances and there is no reason why we can't win our next four games and surge into a top five place in the most open Prem in years.
At last... we score first away and win
After having lost our last three away games after scoring first I didn't get over confident after Thiaw put us ahead almost from the kick off.
I was still sounding off that Elanga should have used his pace to get closer to goal before taking a shot when from the corner Thiaw outjumped everyone to bury his header.
The corner routines are definitely being worked on and an inswinger almost under the crossbar is one of the hardest to defend. More of the same and goals will keep coming.
After the goal Everton came back strongly but Pickford got the pantomime season off to a hilarious start by gifting us a goal from Miley's bouncing shot. All the best Jordan!
Another storming header from Thiaw and a brilliant lofted ball by Big Nick over the flapping arms of T Rex Pickford put us 4-0 up and heading for a well deserved win.
Credit to Dewsbury-Hall for a great piece of control and finish but it was scant consolation for Everton, Moyes and the crowd - many of whom had given up and left.
Tino, Hall and Miley shine like Northumberland Street Xmas lights
Thiaw gets MOTM for his two goals but how good were the three young blades?
Stepping in for a rested Tonali, Miley strode around the pitch like a matador on steroids taking the Everton bulls by the horns and putting them to the sword.
His goal - courtesy of Pantomime Pickford - was the icing on an early Xmas cake and gives Eddie plenty of food for thought in his team selection against Spurs.
On the flanks, in defence and attack, Tino and Hall were outstanding carving into the oppo like a hot knife through butter. Two nailed on England full backs for years to come.
A big thumbs up also to Ramsdale for a brilliant one handed save on the line, and to Elanga whose run and shot led to the first goal plus his excellent assist for Woltemade.
And lastly - a big pat on the back to Eddie who got his selection spot on and the away fans who drowned out the Everton crowd and roared the Lads to victory.
It's champion being a Toon fan this morning :)
Comments welcome.

I still have a rather nice glow of inner contentment after Saturday’s win! I’m hoping it’ll still be there next Monday after the Spurs & Burnley games at SJP!
Nobody interested in minutes-gate.
The yellow cards for our midfielders.
I know that shouldn’t influence a managers selection as they should pick a team to win the next match.
BUT…I would like all of our midfielders available for the mackems.
2 PL matches before that big day.
Will be interesting to see how Eddie plays this.
How many are on 4 cards and isn’t the cut off end Dec, which is a long way off.
A bit more from Keith Downie
Yoane Wissa played his fist 11 v 11 closed door match for Newcastle on Saturday.
⚽️ The striker came through the match unscathed and is set to play in another one this midweek.
🗣️ “We will see how he is after that” says Newcastle boss Eddie Howe when asked about a return date.
