Everton v Newcastle United: Judgement Day 2

Everton and Newcastle meet today at 5.30pm in a Premier League clash that is Judgement Day 2 for the Toon. Judgement Day 1 was passed v Man City.
Everton are riding a bit of a wave under Moyes with a confidence boosting 10 man victory at Man U meaning a win would put them in the top10.
With only one defeat in six home games this season, and only five goals conceded, it's a tough place to go and get our first away win in months.
I called the match against Man City Judgement Day - Eddie and the squad needed to show the fans (and PIF) that the whimpering performances that had rooted us near the bottom of the table wouldn't be repeated - and they nailed it.
It was the Newcastle of two seasons ago, tearing into City with pace. passion, boundless energy and with 100% commitment from every player on the pitch.
That type of performance hasn't been seen before in the Prem this season and it's a carbon copy that is needed at the Hill Dickinson Stadium against Everton.
One thing is certain; David Moyes, his players and the Everton fans will smell blood.
They'll be up for it, confident of winning, and at us full on from the kick off.
If we don't repeat that City attitude and performance, and match Everton stride for stride, another away defeat will be on cards and the euphoria of beating City will turn back to the aching dark hangover that followed the Brentford game.
This Away Record Can't Continue
Our last win on the road in the Prem was way back in April at Leicester.
For a team expected to challenge again for CL qualification that is dire.
Unless we start winning away, and consistently, our Premier season will quickly descend into nothing more than looking forward (or more like back) to a mid table finish.
The next six weeks are the time of the season when the table usually becomes more defined into title and CL challengers, mid table also rans, and relegation fodder.
If we are to break into CL or Europe challengers- today is the day to start.
Top teams go to places like Everton and win - and that's what we need to do.
Big Selection Decisions For Eddie Howe
Goalkeeper, LB, CB's, LW and RW - in all of these positions Eddie has a decision to make.
The team doesn't pick itself that's for sure with form and favouritism needing to be ruthlessly considered and cast aside. If ego's are bruised and upset so be it.
If Eddie picks a team that is criticised before a ball is kicked, and we lose, you can bet the pressure on him will be back to full on. It's Judgement Day 2 for Eddie and the team.
It's the 13th Prem match of the season and I'll settle for a lucky 13 win - but what I and I'm sure all fans are looking for is a performance and win in the same style as the City game.
Get that, and we'll have real momentum for a surge up the table.
My usual fiver is going on a 2-1 win.

Agree totally with above. Miley is really good enough to replace any of the three midfielders Bruno tonali and joelinton and definitely doesn’t weaken midfield when he does. No reason why Eddie should be picking anyone of them when fatigued. Think miley actually controlled midfield superbly yesterday and links up with waltermade nicely
Here's my suggestion on the next 2 line ups given the pile up of games that's coming.
Spurs H (tue)
Ramsdale
Livramento
Thiaw
Burn
Hall
Miley
Tonali
Joelinton
Murphy
Woltemade
Barnes
Burnley next Saturday
Ramsdale
Krafth
Schar
Botman ( if fit )
Burn
Willock
Bruno
Ramsey
Elanga
Woltemade
Gordon
The CL game away to leverkusen after mid week again
I'd give woltemade,Burn a break .
Maybe 4 3 3
Ramsdale
Livramento
Thiaw
Schar
Hall
Bruno
Tonali
Miley
Elanga
Gordon
Barnes
Keep joelinton ,Burn, woltemade ,Murphy fresh for the Derby the following weekend.
Game number 20 it was last night this season. 10 wins ,3 draws and 7 defeats in all competitions. The 2 full backs in Hall and livramento make a huge difference, but the midfield balance has to be right too. A lot of people seem to think the midfield 3 of Bruno, tonali and Joelinton is our best mid 3 and amongst the best in the league. Is it really though? The results don't really back it up overall. This season they've started 12 times together. 5 wins , 1 draw and 6 defeats . Other than one good run of results last season after they switched Bruno and tonali around. The record with them 3 is pretty average.
We've played…
Given that the vast majority of fans, I'd put it as high as 99.9% have never been to an U21's game and the most they've ever seen of them is a few highlights from our very poor app. So it makes me wonder what they see in these youngsters that makes them think they should be automatically given minutes off the bench or even starting in some cases. If Howe was a chump and serial loser then questioning his judgement in this matter would be fair game, he isn't a chump and a loser though and we should trust his judgement when giving Sean Neave etc a chance.
Maybe the win will prompt some prose from the Bard and a tune from Regan.
Lurkers could commit themselves to joing in
There's only one team on here.
