Ivan Toney Newcastle United Transfer & Jaissle Reunion News
Ivan Toney is once again being linked with a transfer to Newcastle United, with speculation growing that manager Matthias Jaissle could be interested in reuniting with his former Al-Ahli striker.
With Newcastle struggling for goals the possibility of Toney returning to St James' Park is attracting attention ahead of January.
Ivan Toney Newcastle Transfer News – What Is the Latest?
Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown has suggested that Newcastle are considering Toney as a potential January transfer target.
Reports from Saudi Arabia have also linked the 30-year-old England international with a return to Newcastle.
However, there has been no confirmed bid or formal negotiations, and previous reporting from the Evening Chronicle indicated that Newcastle had not discussed a deal.
For now, the transfer remains speculation rather than an established move.
Could Ivan Toney Reunite With Matthias Jaissle?
The connection between Toney and Jaissle makes this rumour particularly interesting.
The pair previously worked together at Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, where Toney enjoyed considerable goalscoring success.
Jaissle knows the striker's qualities and how to get the best from him, which could make Toney an attractive option if Newcastle decide to strengthen their attack.
Toney also has extensive Premier League experience from his time at Brentford.
Will Ivan Toney Return to Newcastle in January?
Toney joined Newcastle in 2015 but made only four senior appearances before eventually leaving the club.
A return would provide Newcastle with an experienced goalscorer, although his substantial salary and contract with Al-Ahli until 2028 could complicate negotiations.
With Newcastle's attacking problems continuing, the speculation is understandable.
But whether Jaissle genuinely wants a reunion with Toney, and whether Newcastle can make a deal financially viable, remains to be seen.
