NEWSFEED Will Newcastle Sign a Striker?
With Newcastle United struggling to score goals consistently, supporters are increasingly asking whether the club will sign another striker in the January transfer window.
The departure of Alexander Isak has left a significant gap in Newcastle's attack, and the club's recruitment has yet to provide the goalscoring consistency supporters expected.
Will Newcastle Sign a Striker in January?
There is currently no confirmation that Newcastle intend to sign a centre-forward in January 2027.
Recent reports suggest the club has some financial flexibility, although a creative attacking midfielder could be a higher priority.
However, with Newcastle's forwards struggling to make a consistent impact, the argument for signing another proven goalscorer is growing stronger.
Much will depend on results and attacking performances between now and January.
Which Strikers Are Newcastle Interested In?
Newcastle have reportedly been monitoring Middlesbrough's Will Lankshear, who has made an outstanding start to the Championship season, scoring 13 goals in 13 appearances.
The 21-year-old would represent an investment in Newcastle's future, although Middlesbrough would be reluctant to lose such an important player during their promotion campaign.
Ivan Toney has also been linked with a possible return to St James' Park.
Toney previously worked with Matthias Jaissle at Al-Ahli and would offer Premier League experience and a proven goalscoring record.
However, neither potential move has progressed to a publicly confirmed agreement.
Will Newcastle Strengthen Their Attack?
Newcastle's attacking difficulties are not entirely down to their strikers.
Creating better chances and improving the service from midfield are equally important.
Nevertheless, if Newcastle continue struggling for goals, signing a striker could become one of the club's biggest January priorities.
For now, supporters will have to wait to see whether reported interest develops into a concrete transfer move.
