Man U Smashed As Toon Grab 3pts

Like wounded soldiers given a dose of adrenalin, Newcastle shook off the pain of three successive PL home defeats, smashed the Red Devils even with 10 men, and put them to the sword with a stunning surgical strike from Will Osula.
Like a Hollywood epic movie...

A Star is Born: Will Osula’s 90th-minute heroics settle an epic encounter at SJP.
Watch the extended highlights of the Magpies' 2-1 triumph, including Anthony Gordon's clinical penalty and Will Osula's unforgettable 90th-minute winner
This was a game that literally took the breath away.
It had everything that makes football one of the most exciting, emotional and spellbinding games on the planet.
And the finale did justice to a Hollywood epic.
The plot...
A wounded and thrice home defeated Newcastle United face a team of rampant Red Devils who were carving up the opposition under new Generalisimo Carrick.
The Tyneside natives are trembling, the Red enemy is approaching, will the Mancs capture three points and leave the Geordies and their team down and defeated?
Join the queue, pay your tanner, take your seats, and see how the plot unfolds.
If the script was a glorious Manchester United win... Newcastle tore it up.
Right from the off the Lads ploughed into the Mancs with speed, precision and menace.
Joelinton was like a man possessed, Tonali the raging bull, Dan Burn the rallying General, and the rest of the troops led by Squadron Leader Trippier were on fire.
And then, the plot thickened
Lurking in the shadows, an infiltrator had got behind our lines.
The imposter sent to quell the Toon advance was Peter Bankes.
Posing as a diplomat trying to represent both sides in the battle, he disposed of Jacob Ramsey in a move so underhand it broke every rule in the book.
It was meant to break the troops in black and white... instead it galvanised them.
The cavalry come charging
As a bairn in the 60's I used to go to the Saturday morning 'flicks' where the highlight was the cavalry rescuing the cowboy settlers from the surrounding horde of indians.
We booed the indians and cheered to the rafters when the cavalry charged over the hill.
And so it was last night.
As the ten men of Newcastle began to tire, exhausted in valiantly holding back the eleven of Man U, Commander in Chief Howe threw his secret weapon into the fray.
With minutes of the battle remaining, and the Red Devils threatening to win the war from a corner, they were hit by a devastating strike.
Squadron Leader Trippier loaded the secret weapon and fired an Exocet missile named Will Osula down the thinly protected flanks of the enemy.
As it flew towards its target it swerved the defences and fired one almighty explosive charge that blew Manchester United back to Salford and beyond.
The noise from the explosion was deafening, the home crowd were swinging from rafters, the black and white troops had won against all odds - the enemy were defeated.
The credits rolled at the end of an epic.
Every man that played a part in the victory got a mention, with Will Osula heading the list and surely in with a chance of an Oscar.
The crowd stood up from their seats and applauded a magnificent performance.
Newcastle United 2 - Manchester United 1
A night that will long live in the memory.
The embattled Toon troops are still a force to be reckoned with.
Next up at the flicks, Manchester City on Saturday.
Will it be another epic? Don't bet against it.
PS. I finally took money off the bookies with my 2-1 prediction for last night.
That wiped the smile off their faces :)

Colin, I remember those Saturday mornings at the cinema. Cowboys and Indians in the late 50s. Hopalong Cassidy, Tom Mix and Lash Larue. For sci fi we had Flash Gordon and for comedy there was Fatty and Skinny as we called them. Fond memories of my childhood in Newcastle before immigrating to Canada. My love for football and the Lads has never diminished!
On young Will Osula, i think the lad has raw talent, but i have never seen any credible evidence of him having the credentials to play as a striker, he always seems more at home playing out wide, after that superb cameo last night, i would much prefere the lad to challenge Jacob Murphy for the right wing over Anthony Elanga, just my humble opinion.
Will Osula can he make it | NUFC Blog
The name Osula of Nigerian origin can mean “joy,” “blessing,” “gift,” “inventive” and “prone to restlessness or high-strung energy.” All we need for the rest of this season and beyond.
He is eligible to play for Denmark, England,France and Nigeria. Hope his confidence and potential grows exponentially from now on and as BPH says he’s 22 which is not really a kid. So onwards and upwards for the lad and more game time! 👍
I see there was a bit of argy-bargy in the tunnel last night, no surprise Big Joe was to the fore 😁👍 You just have to love the big man😆 https://youtu.be/PvkVmT0yN54?si=VNBOme3xobIqDQ7A
