Newcastle linked with Polish left-back Jakub Krzyżanowski
Newcastle United have reportedly sent scouts to watch Wisła Kraków left-back Jakub Krzyżanowski as they assess a potential transfer move.
According to TEAMtalk, the 20-year-old was watched during Wisła’s recent meeting with Raków Częstochowa.
Newcastle need cover for left back Lewis hall as the only experienced back up is 34 year old Dan Burn whose best days as a full back are now past him.
The report describes Newcastle’s interest as preliminary, with the club taking a closer look before deciding whether to proceed.
January deal with a loan back suggested
One possibility outlined by TEAMtalk is a January transfer that would allow Krzyżanowski to remain with Wisła until the end of the season.
That arrangement would give Newcastle a future option at left-back while allowing the defender to continue his development in Poland. It would, however, provide no immediate additional cover for Lewis Hall.
Competition for his signature
TEAMtalk reports that Augsburg previously had an approach rejected and that other European clubs are monitoring the youngster.
For Newcastle, the important distinction is that a scouting visit represents an assessment rather than an agreement. The report does not establish that a formal Newcastle bid has been submitted or that a transfer is close.
Krzyżanowski is a name to watch as January approaches, but this remains a developing transfer link.

Finding specialist backup for Lewis Hall would give Newcastle greater depth without placing the full burden on him throughout the season. That could explain the interest in Krzyżanowski. Read our earlier assessment: Is Lewis Hall Now England’s First-Choice Left-Back?.
