NEWSFEED: How Much Did Newcastle United Spend This Season?

After Newcastle's second defeat in five days by Everton questions are being asked about Newcastle's last two summer transfer windows.

Newcastle United spent approximately £268 million on new players during the summer 2026 transfer window, but recovered around £238 million through player sales, leaving an estimated net spend of just £30 million.

However, the scale of the spending and the players who departed have raised serious questions about whether Newcastle's squad is stronger or weaker than last season.

Have Newcastle Improved Their Squad?

Despite the substantial investment, Newcastle have struggled for consistency, creativity and goals this season.

The departures of Bruno Guimarães and Sandro Tonali have left a significant gap in midfield, while several younger arrivals are still adapting to Premier League football.

Following another disappointing home defeat against Everton, supporters are questioning whether the club's recruitment strategy has delivered value for money.

Newcastle have invested around £268 million in new players, but the biggest question remains: has all that spending actually improved the team?
