NEWSFEED When Will Tino Livramento Return From Injury for Newcastle United?
Newcastle United are hoping Tino Livramento could return for the Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday, 21 November, although manager Matthias Jaissle remains cautious about rushing the defender back.
The 23-year-old has endured a frustrating period with injuries and has not played since September, when he suffered another setback shortly before Newcastle's match against Hull City.
What Injury Does Tino Livramento Have?
Livramento is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained in training.
It followed a difficult summer in which a calf injury required surgery, ruling him out of England's World Cup campaign and Newcastle's pre-season preparations.
He returned to make three substitute appearances before suffering his latest setback.
Will Livramento Be Fit for the Arsenal Match?
According to NewcastleWorld, Newcastle are hopeful that Livramento could be involved when Arsenal visit St James' Park on 21 November.
That would mean the defender had been sidelined for approximately nine weeks.
However, Jaissle has deliberately avoided setting a firm return date, explaining that the club wants to protect the player following his repeated injury problems.
Livramento has been undertaking light work on the training ground, but a return to full fitness and competitive action will depend on his progress.
Why Are Newcastle Being So Cautious?
Livramento has experienced several significant injuries during his career, including a previous ACL injury that kept him out for around a year.
Newcastle are understandably reluctant to risk another setback by bringing him back too quickly.
His pace, versatility and ability to play on either side of defence would provide Jaissle with a welcome additional option.
The latest indication is that Livramento could return against Arsenal on 21 November, but that remains a target rather than a confirmed comeback date.
