NEWSFEED: Will Newcastle United Sack Matthias Jaissle?
Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle is coming under increasing pressure following another disappointing defeat to Everton, but the latest reports suggest the club's hierarchy is not currently planning to sack him.
Newcastle's 1-0 defeat at St James' Park on Monday night was their second loss to Everton in five days, following their 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat.
The result leaves Newcastle 13th in the Premier League with just 11 points from nine matches.
Supporters booed the team off the pitch, with growing frustration over performances, team selection and Jaissle's tactics.
Does Matthias Jaissle Still Have the Board's Backing?
According to Football Insider, Newcastle's hierarchy remains determined to support the German manager despite the disappointing start to the season.
The club reportedly recognises the difficulties created by the summer departures of several established players and believes Jaissle needs time to rebuild the team.
However, patience among sections of the Newcastle support is clearly wearing thin.
Jaissle himself accepted responsibility following the Everton defeat, acknowledging the supporters' frustration and admitting there was plenty that needed improving.
How Many More Games Will Jaissle Get?
There is currently no confirmed indication that Newcastle have given Jaissle a deadline or a specific number of matches to improve results.
However, the upcoming fixtures could prove particularly important.
Newcastle travel to Fulham on Saturday before facing Arsenal at St James' Park and Brighton away after the international break.
Further disappointing performances would inevitably increase the pressure on both Jaissle and the Newcastle hierarchy.
For now, the answer appears to be that Newcastle are sticking with Matthias Jaissle. But unless results and performances improve quickly, questions about his future are unlikely to disappear.
