Qarabag Pushovers? Watch These Three Wins

Qarabag lost 6-0 to Liverpool in their last game in the Champions League group stage and that heavy defeat has led some fans to think that Newcastle getting through the play off game and into the last 16 of the Champions League is a formality.

If you think that, watch the match highlight videos below, and think again.

I am sure Eddie Howe won't be underestimating Qarabag especially when you consider that they beat Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Copenhagen earlier in the competition.

They scored eight goals in those three victories and came back from 2-0 down away to Benfica to win 3-2 and from 2-1 down at home to beat Eintracht Frankfurt to win by the same score. Qarabag also comfortably beat FC Copenhagen 2-0 at home.

Among those goals were some well worked moves with brilliant finishes and Newcastle's defence will have to be at their sharpest to cope with strikers Camilo Durán and Leandro Andrade who had seven goals between them in the group stages.

Eiddie's press conference is due at 4.30pm this afternoon and I'm sure he'll be saying that he expects a tough game in Baku in front of a fanatical home crowd.

Here are the highlights from Qarabag's three group stage CL wins.

Bild clickbait...

Germany striker Nick Woltemade is unhappy at Newcastle and the 24-year-old would welcome a move back to Stuttgart or Bayern Munich. (Bild - in German)

Watched the Qarabag highlights mentioned above and they are good they’ll be up for the game no doubt about that. I noticed a load of security stewards around the perimeter of the pitch but I couldn’t imagine there would be any crowd trouble at their place, maybe just over cautious.

I wonder how many of our fans will be allowed to go? Hopefully it will be a great experience for them and as always they will make it a great atmosphere in the stadium.

PS: the Heed won! oh also Harrogate both away. 👍

Hope the away fans are safe over there in Qarabag land.

I'm sure they'll do the team and us all proud.
