Ronway's World Cup Competition Rules - Is It Coming Home?

Blog member Ronway suggested we run a competition and I think it's a cracking way to get the blog involved in the World Cup.

Here are the rules...

HOW TO ENTER PREDICTIONS

24 hours before each match kicks off, each participant posts:

Final Score Prediction - any of 4 selected teams can be nominated.

Scorers - any player from the 4 selected teams can be nominated.

SCORING SYSTEM

Exact score correct - 5 points

Correct result only (win/draw/loss) - 2 points

Wrong result - 0 points

Scorer Accuracy

Correctly naming a scorer - 3 points per correct scorer

Predicting a brace - +2 bonus points

Predicting a hat trick - +5 bonus points

Predicting a defender to score - +4 bonus points

Bold Prediction Bonuses

Predicting a team to score 3+ goals - +1 point

Predicting a clean sheet - +1 point

Predicting a sub to score - +2 point

Bonus Points

VAR : If a predicted scorer has a goal ruled out by VAR - +1 point

Neggers : Predicting a team to lose and they do - +2 points

Happy Clappers : Predicting a team to win and they do - +3 points

RUNNING TOTALS

A leaderboard will be posted soon after each match as available.

There will be a simple running tally of the points scored.

END-OF-TOURNAMENT AWARDS

Golden Predictor – highest total points

Happy Clappers Award – most consistently wrong but still turning up

Prizes - Depends what Colin brings back through Duty Free
