Vote for Player Of The Season

  • May 29
  • 1 min read

It's time for the winner of Martoon's 25/26 Predictions to be announced but first the blog needs to vote for Player Of The Season.

Given our poor PL performances and finish there aren't too many candidates who stand out as potential POTS but those that do include Bruno, Hall and Thiaw.

Bruno was our top scorer in the Prem and results during his missed games showed how important he is to the team.

Lewis Hall has emerged as one of the PL's best left backs and it is a real head scratcher that Thomas Tuchel has left him out of the Word Cup squad.

Malick Thiaw has been the one outstanding success from last summers transfer window and has weighed in with four goals to show his qualities extend to both halves of the pitch.

If you think any other player deserves the POTS award feel free to give them the thumbs up.

NOTE:

To make it easy for Martoon to add up the votes name you POTS on a single line at the start of your post if you wish to add comments ie.,

Comments.....

Voting ends Saturday midnight and Prediction results will be published as soon as Martoon has counted the votes.

I've just done a quick count up on here and 'over the road' and the clear winner is Lewis Hall with over 50% of the votes followed by Thiaw with about 25% of the vote - they were the only 2 in contention!

I see that both Aaron Ramsdale and Matt Targett have both been officially released.

Let's hope Schar's contract extension is worthwhile and not a cheap deal.

If it's sensible and he and the family are settled then keeping his experience and committment is welcome.

Just watched yet again the highlights of Supermac’s hat trick home debut August 1971 against Liverpool.

Noticed that the toon fans applauded Emlyn Hughes cracking volley that day, I think it happened quite often back then, applauding the opposition.

The challenge by Clemence on Macdonald even now makes you grimace, he was knocked out cold and the understatement by the great Brian Moore at the end said ‘Macdonald went home after the game slightly concussed,’ ’slightly!

Today it would have been straight to hospital for scans etc. and rightly so. 🚑

I was at that game and SuperMac blew me away with his 3 goals.

Wish we could find someone of his ilk for next season!
